Alos of money and time has gone into upgrading the course. New tee boxes, back nine restroom was added, new trees and shrubs. The course is trying very hard to attract non-military business.

Back nine is only a few years old. Still needs help on the fairways if lack of rain continues very long. Greens are well watered though.

Since I work on this naval base I have played this course for years. It is now designated EAGLE VIEW GOLF COURSE and alot of money and effort has been put into this course over the years. The course just got new bermuda grass tees! The course is tougher on the front nine than the back but the back is alot more hilly. Great pro shop and friendly staff.
No tee time is really needed. They will just set you up to start a round.

Number one strength WITH A BULLET: BARGAIN.

With the exception of one hole, the par fives are quite short (525, 495, 455, 450, and 450). Take that as a strength or weakness.

Unique structure of back nine.

Though the tees were bermuda and lush; they were TOO lush, meaning they needed a good mowing (sometimes too tall to find a good place to tee the ball).

Biggest weakness has to be remote location from almost anywhere on St. Rd. 645 just off 231 in Burns City.

Played 16 of Eagle View's 18 today before a storm hit. A very, very good bargain, as I paid $10 to walk 18 holes on a weekend. I believe that the cart fee isn't more than $10 on top of that. Anyway, I generally play the white or medium tees, but the course is pretty short even from the blue or back tees, so I played them (at about 6,000 yards even). They had a black set of tees set back probably 20 yards, but yardages weren't listed. The tees are bermuda and are pretty lush. Fairways and rough were pretty good as well. Rough in places was a bit deep and crabgrassy.

Front nine is the old Crane Naval nine, and is a classic flat parkland course with some wide open holes. The back nine is four years old and is grown in completely. However, it's about 500 yards shorter than the front. Lack of length is made up for by the tighter fairways and hillier terrain. Number's 12-17 are unique; as they go par three, short par five, par three, short par five, par three, and short par five. Also, the greens are fairly small and slow, and are generally flat, round-top in shape.
