Shoots in the 80s

I traveled from Virginia Beach and my brother came from St. Louis and played this due to the good reviews we had read. They started us out on the back nine. When we reached the 10th green, we almost went back to the club house to get our money back. I wish we had. These greens are absolutely ruined and unplayable. The practice green is fine and gives no indication that something might be wrong. The group in front of us picked up their balls when they reached the green and counted it as a two putt since it was impossible to get a straight roll. The greens are a combination of hard, lumpy dirt and spray painted sand. When we said something to the pro at the turn, he admitted that they cut the greens down too low and lost them. He then proudly stated that we should "wait until you get to #5, that''s the worse". Really strange since I''m used to the club pro talking up their course. When my brother made the tee time, the condition of the course was greatly sugar coated and made to sound in decent shape. Since we were out of towners, we were not offered any sort of discount or refund. He said that if we lived nearby, he would give us 50% off our next round (roughly $26 discount). They could be pay me $26 and I wouldn''t go back to this place. On a positive note, the girl behind the counter and the lady who runs the snack bar were very friendly.

Course was ok. Not in the very best condition. Played September 2008. Not walkable. Too expensive. Layout was good, with lots of variation. Not a very long course. Water in play on several holes.

Shoots in the 80s

Was very pleasantly surprised (did not know anything about the course). Played it Aug. '07-layout interesting, good variety. Greens very good. Overall condition excellent. Several tee boxes so you can play it fairly short or as long as most players would like. It is hilly-if walking, a workout. Several very scenic holes. Paid $30 mid-week, an absolute bargain. Felt like a private club.
