Long par 4's, with lots of trees and some water.
Par 5's are moderate in length (475-490 yards), but are rather tight, and require a conservative driving approach.

The rough around the greens overly punishes a shot that is missed by only a couple of yards. A less than perfect approach can turn a sure par, into a scramble for bogey.

This is a challenging course, with a rating of 70 on a par 72. The front nine are the first holes designed by Pete Dye in his career. The back nine were not his design, but were developed with the same feel. The tees are in good condition. The rough is what one would expect from Pete Dye, it makes the approach shot very difficult. The greens are in nice shape, and are very undulating and challenging. If you miss the greens, there is a three foot area of fringe and then 2-3 inch rough, that makes chipping very difficult. Overall, the course is well maintained, and the staff is friendly. The scores achieved will be well earned, and good ones rewarding.
