Because the course is relatively short, a golfer who stays in the fairway will not use most of the clubs in his bag.

Idle Creek GC is a fairly short, but challenging Par 71 course. It features bent grass greens and fairways that are well-maintained throughout the season. The greens are large, undulating, and relatively fast (9-10 STEMP). Only a few holes are trapped, which is good because the sand is hard and poorly maintained. Most holes are tight, with a premium placed on accurate driving. Length is not overly important, as most holes range from 320 to 390 yards. Par 5s are all reachable in two for someone who can drive the ball 280+. Water comes into play on many holes.
