this course is very playable each time i've visited my girlfriend's family. greens are fairly large and are well kept. few blind shots throughout the holes and some long par 3's make it interesting. par 3 over the water is a fun hole that also has a tricky putting surface.

Customer Service

staff was friendly.

To make it short and sweet this course sucks I agree with Mat the golf pro sucks, the course is in need of repair and the people are rude.

Muscatine Munincipal is very nice public golf course. The front 9 is a little tougher than the back because its longer but its a lot more open. The back 9 is pretty easy but has a few more obsticles to overcome. Be sure to play the brand new #13 water hole it is beautiful. Check out the driving range too.

Customer Service

Most of the employees are very nice and the pro is helpful.

Over all this is a good course. It gets alot of rounds played and mid summer it really shows! They changed club pro's and this guy they have now is different!(Joe Cool) Weekend tee times must be made a week in advance and they claim they don't have standing tee times but that is bull*&%$. The tee boxes need alot of work. The greens are well maintained. Front nine plays long but the back is short and has a beautiful par 3 water hole but Joe cool is going to screw that up for us. This is an easy course to walk and they have new electric golf carts for you handicapped golfers. The club house is very nice and has a good snack bar. Oh one other thing, watch out for the sand trap on #10 fairway! I can't beleive they have a trap behind the trees so if your unfortunate to land in it you don't have much of an option (Your SCREWED!)

Customer Service

The man behind the counter (I'll call him Pat) is very slow and acts like he has no-clue, not very helpful!

Shoot in the 80s

This is a very playable course that is an excellent value for all players. The first nine tends to play longer and is more open. The second nine is significantly shorter, yet is more placement oriented. As the course matures, it will become more and more challenging. Speed of play determines a lighter rough. It(the rough)is nothing to speak about, and may be an advantage to hit into during later parts of the year.

The fees are very [VERY] reasonable, but getting on the course is a trick. You definately need tee times in advance. This is a course that plays over 50,000 rounds annually (in Iowa, that's not bad). The club house is nice and gives you an opportunity to take a break between nines, or rounds. Don't expect much more than the basic for food and beverage. A driving range is available.

The course is maintained well and the greens are fairly large. The speed of the greens are moderate. Some of the tees have a tilt to them, so understand that you may not be totally level when teeing off.

Customer Service

Make sure that you understand that if you pay, you play... no refunds - even if you get rained out!
