Heritage park is a great golf course! I was walking up to the clubhouse when one of the employess, Brian Williamson, greeted me. He then gave me tips on the course and even said he could beat Rob Wilkin in a round of 18.

Customer Service

Exceptional service. Jeremy K. and Tim S. were some of the best cart attendants I had ever seen.

Shoots in the 100s

Let me tell ya. I had quite a bender on this course. Came in for a bachelor party and expected a stuffy reaction from the course personnel. Quite the contrary; I probably drank 30 to 35 beers that afternoon, vomitted a few times on the fairways, and actually overturned my golf cart when I missed a 43 foot putt. Sensational day. I'll be back next year with my cousins and neighbors.

Customer Service

As I said earlier, simply sensational and more than accomodating. Couple of hotties working the pro shop as well.

Shoots in the 70s

I paid $20 to walk HP on a weekday, and it's a nice layout... a pretty good deal at $20. However, the fairways were in horrible shape... Tried playing with just irons, to test my game according to the book "Radical Golf". I shot 82 (+11) with three doubles and one 3 putt. I am a 5 handicap, my strength being my power game - full shots from driver to lob wedge. I am not so good around the greens, which made playing with just irons a real test on this course (6900 par 71 from the back). I ended up hitting 7 greens. What I did learn, was that it is definitely not necessary to hit with woods as often as I do - there were only a handful of holes where I would absolutely hit a driver or five-wood. Interesting test...

Customer Service

Good.

Shoots in the 80s

While last summer Heritage was in REALLY BAD shape, it's in REALLY GOOD shape now (July 2002). If you can get hold of one of the 2 players for $50 coupons (cart included), it's probably the best golf deal in Kansas City. Very challenging from the blues, also from the whites. One of the par 5's from the blues is 629 yards, another is over 600 too. A couple of long par 3's over water, and the wind is always a factor.

Customer Service

Pretty friendly group.

Shoot in the 80s

This course is a great test of golf. It has some very easy holes and some very tough holes. It is very hilly and you can find some interesting lies if you miss the fairways. Wind is always in play and can really change the course. For instance, there is a 440 yard uphill par 4 (green is approx 50 ft above tee)that usually plays down wind that is a great hole. If the wind is out of the north, it becomes very difficult to reach in regulation.
Most greens are large and have several tiers. Get it on the right tier and putting is great-put it on the wrong tier and watch out three putt...
There is water in play on several holes as well. Hit it straight and this course is easy...but aren't they all?!?

Customer Service

Staff is friendly and walk-on's can usually get right on if you show up in the morning early

Shoot in the 90s

Good course to play here in the Kansas City area. Gives you a fair, but good test of your skills. The driving range condition gets pretty poor after heavy use in summertime. It simply isn't large enough to accomodate the heavy use it receives. Normally, the rough is not too bad on errants shots except during the months where there is alot of moisture and then it is treacherous. The greens are generaly soft for approach shots altho they can be bumpy from lack of ball mark repairs. Greens are also a bit on the slow side for putting but generally roll true. The fairways are in very good condition except in August and September where the summer heat absolutly kills them. A side note, Heritage is switching over to zoysia fairways which should alleviate this condition. The course is well marshalled but things tend to back up especially on weekends where they now allow 5 somes in the afternoon. Overall, it is a great value for the price and I always enjoy coming back here for another round.

Customer Service

Marshalls are friendly, Staff is courteous. A staff member greets you at your car to bring you to the clubhouse.

Heritage is one of better golf courses in south KC, however they lost their fairways(and I mean gone). Most of the greens are lost, if not, they have big patches. The most disappointing thing is when I called the pro shop, they told me the course was ok but a couple fairways were lost. They failed to tell me ALL but 2 were gone. I had to play the ball up in the little rough b/c there was ZERO grass on some holes. I hate that! I wondered why I got a early sat. a.m. tee time at the 11th hour.
