Fairways were maintained nicely

Tough to walk (hilly) and was also just a tad cramped

Rough was torn up in some parts and dead pretty much

This course is one of the easiest I've played here along with Picadome (Campbell House), but I score worst here because the two times I've played, it's been cold and windy. Good sign of the round was losing a Lady off the first tee, another Lady off the second (quit playing them), and a few more along the way (dead, torn up rough + bad vision + bad swings). Tough to walk because of the hills, but especially after one strap came off of my already heavy Ogio bag. Layout is pretty simple with a little bit shorter layout, pretty much straight holes and few buckers throughout the course. Water comes into play in on only three holes. Good practice course for spring and fall with pretty cheap rates ($5-$11) for 18.

Had a nice putting green and practice hole (only for short game), but didn't try because of time. Pro shop looked a bit on the old side and didn't carry a lot of things, but is fine if you do need some balls, shoes, or gloves. Snack bar also looked old without much selection, but got the job done.

One thing that I really liked about Tates Creek was the simplicity of the holes, most of them being very straight.

The course is hard to walk, not due to the length but rather the hills and hitting the ball very far off straight is the possibility of getting into the fairways of other holes.

The fairways and greens at Tates Creek are in very good condition. The roughs on the other hand are somewhat bare and in places even dead. The course is very hilly, sometimes 2 hills per hole. The course overall is short with par-5's often reachable in 2. It is not a hard course to play except that it is pretty tight. Water only comes into play on 3 holes, so, the odds of losing a ball that way are not very high.
