It's too bad that twosome's can't play this course on weekends, or even be matched up with another couple before 2:30 in the afternoon. It's a nice course, but not very friendly to golfers

Customer Service

See above comments. Not very friendly for couples or twosomes

GREAT Course! Fairways and greens are plush. Sand traps are well maintained and white and if you are from LA, you don't get to see white sand too often. Course has reachable par 4's, which makes the round interesting. The course has many different signature holes, not just one. With the casinos going down, this course will be the reason to visit Lake Charles.

I visited this course in heat of August, it was miserably hot. Most courses at this time of year are showing signs of fatigue from the heat. Not this one, I was thoroughly delighted to find that the superintendent and his greens crew had been doing an exceptional job. My hat is off to these guys. Being an ex-club professional myself I do know and appreciate the tough job they have to keep a course in the shape their course is in. I am looking forward to playing there again.

Customer Service

Everything was excellent. The staff everywhere was exceptional. You would think that you were a member of an exclusive country club.

Course was great. Layout nice and in good condition. Only things that could be improved are out of bounds stakes too close to in play on several holes (on one hole, #3 I think, a bunker guarding the corner of a dog leg was nearly O.B) and the starter they had working was pretty bad. Pretty easy to see how he was a retired H.S. principal. Play the course before they build the houses.

Customer Service

Behind the counter, great. Starter sucked.

this course is very well maintained & manicured for such a new golfing facility. the greens (except for 2 of them)were in excellent shape & putting was fun even when faced with a left to right downhiller for par. we chose this course after hearing good things about it through the local travel agency & all of felt like we had discovered a secret hidden treasure out here near the louisiana/texas border. if you visit lake charles or are just passing through, you definately need to make time to enjoy this #2 ranked public course of louisiana. please take the time to savor the local cajun food somewhere after your round... it's worth it!

Customer Service

we were from out of town & all involved employees really tried hard to make us comfortable. check out the 2 beer cart girls, amanda & amber while you are there too!

Outstanding golf course with terrific staff. Had Corporate Gulf Coast area golf tournament in 2000 and are returning for 2nd annual tournament in 2001. Course had some wet areas but otherwise fairways and greens very well maintained. Excellent experience. Plan to return regularly. I would rate Gray Plantation as the absolute best course in the southeast Texas/southwest Louisiana area. No other course provides the golf course excellence combined with staff support and service. I would highly recommend the facility to anyone. I have high expectations of attending a PGA event at this course in the future.

Customer Service

Staff seemed to go out of their way to accomodate all reasonable requests. As President of the Golf Association who selected the course for our 1st annual tournament, I was made to feel as if it were our 20th annual tournament and a very important part of their goals to be of service and a commitment to success of our tournament.

Restaurant provided meal accomodations during tournament and food was better than average for a large group. The bar service was very good and manager went out of his way to make the players "significant others" comfortable and managed to keep boredom out of the picture.
