Model Reviewed: Willowdale country club

One of my favorite golf courses to play. All challenges apply to this couse, even the occasional uneven lie. Greens are elevated and will make you check up on your club selection, but one of the things that this course captures is the true New Orleans feel. Cypress trees, oaks, and swamp like water hazards with swamp wild life make this course a great place to bring guest from out of town to play a round. Luling is only 35 min. to an hour outside of the city. The clubhouse staff is one of the friendliest I've come across. Green-fees are very low, $38.00 w/ cart on weekends. Beware, this course is very narrow and requires you to practice hitting your straightest shot. The greens open up very nicely, but the putting surface is one the best maintained I've ever come accross. Balls will roll so pay attention to the down hill putt to the hole. Sometimes being on the green is not the safest place. Come play this course located in the heart of a quite neighborhood, You'll yearn to return because I'm confident you'll leave some good shots ( would-a, could-a, should-a ) out here.

Willowdale is a hidden gem. Overall it's a fun course to play because most of the greens are elevated. So it makes you think about club selection. High handicappers, bring lots of balls. For the price I pay to play, it is the best deal in New Orleans area as far as value. Highly suggest playing if you a tourist or local.

Customer Service

Excellent and the pro shop assistants are extroverted.

Willowdale is a well kept secret. The condition of the course is excellent, with good greens and trees everywhere. You need to hit it straight, or you will be in trouble. If you can hit it long, while also hitting it straight, you should do well.

WillowDale is a very tight course. If your strength is long and straight, this is an easy course to handle. You can score well leaving the driver in the bag. Some of the small elevated greens make reading them and birdies difficult.

Customer Service

The staff is one of the friendliest of all of the courses I've played around the world

Willowdale is a very course to start on. it is very narrow but not long. it benefits the straight hitter, not the long hitter.
