Great beginner to intermediate course. 1st hole is a nice long leg stretcher with a easy dog leg right. 2nd hole is a quick 7-8 iron raised green shot that produces the occassional hole-in-one on one of the best greens on the course. 3rd hole is a straight shot down slope that makes for a good birdie hole. 4th hole is a line drive straight to the clubhouse that hugs the tree line off the tee. Wait for the wind to die before your drive or you will loose balls once your drive clears the tree tops. 5th hole is a nice 5 wood or 4 iron shot that slopes down and drops in on a raised green, good hole for an eagle shot. 6th is a downhill drive witha quick drop off after a raised ridge, 1 wood drive and aim between the boulder and the large pine for a good roll to set up for a chip onto the green. the green is tight and fast and usually is in so so shape with some grass burn. 7th is a tight short shot that makes for an easy eagle or clean birdie shot, go for a 9 iron pop over the large oak tree and hope for a good bounce over the mound, or choke down and punch it straight under and try to bounce it off the back mound beyond the green for a smooth backroll onto the slow green. 8th is a power drive that goes up and over a medium hill, line up on the left side pines and watch for the cross wind, a good drive will leave you with a 6 or 7 iron shot at the green, but be careful, the green is raised, fast and tucked right into the corner of the woods and if you have any spin on your ball its going to shoot right off the green. 9th hole is a flat drive between to mounds and over some small pines that leaves you with a uphill iron shot towards the barn, go for a high hit with little bounce or try to slap it off the barn or you will be digging your ball out of 1 of the 2 sand straps on the front side of the green. good course, never very busy, excellent walking course with some very clean trimwork on the pine trees 40 yards into the woods if you have to hunt for a ball. course is relaxed casual dress, no steel spikes, but I have seen people wearing them out there.

Cobbossee Colony Golf Course is a great course for beginners to learn on. It is not the hardest course, with zero water hazards and few bunkers, but it is a fun place to play, and very inexpensive. This year the greens and fairways are in the best condition that they have ever been.
