Shoots in the 80s

This course is beautiful and difficult. Very challenging. Too many blind shot though. It's usually packed and they upped the price when Samosett bought them. It's a fun course to play with the exeption of the jets flying 500ft. overhead.

Shoots in the 80s

Played from the backs. The layout is a paradox. Several nice holes. Many horribly designed holes: blind tee shots to narrow (10 yds) fairways, with OB on one or both sides, at least an acre of ground under repair affecting two holes, long distances between many greens and tees, inadequate yardage markers. It's target golf. Chalk up your first round to learning the layout. And, all holes directly under the flight path of Portland International Airport. Be prepared for planes landing every 3 minutes (and we played on a Sunday afternoon).

Customer Service

Above average at the clubhouse. A ranger would have been nice on our round.

Shoots in the 70s

One of my favorites in Maine. This course will test even the best golfer. Tight fairways and hard fast greens combined with narrow fairways and lots of trees make for an interesting game. Make sure you bring your "A" game cause you have to play target golf to master this course.

Customer Service

Friendly staff with a Head Professional who is second to none.

Shoot in the 90s

Tight, demanding track. Well maintained from tee to green. Sable Oaks had a little of everything. While most holes required a precise tee shot and approach; the course also offered some relief with a few less demanding holes. A decent challenge at an affordable price.

Customer Service

Tee times can be called in a week in advance. I played during the week; course was not crowded at all.
