After calling and getting the course conditions and told it was "wide" open, I asked about the fee and was quoted the full summer rate. I explained that the web site had the summer rate beginning tomorrow (Sunday), and was told this was posted incorrectly.
Now this was the club's own managed web site so I asked for the lower rate to be honored as posted on their site. I received no answer so my response was that I would go to another course.
This should have been handled differently, but it is what it is.
I'll give them another chance the next time I'm there.
