Poor greens, roped off greens, very wet.

Every green is roped off and they have a coronary if you even approach the green with your golf bag. I can't count the times a runner has bounced 20yds back toward me One year they aerated the greens in August and you had to play with 1000's of little tubes of dirt on the greens.

Prices are reasonable and atmosphere is friendly. The course is presently (summer 2003) undergoing extensive improvements and renovations. New management and a motivated and devote greens crew make this a “don’t miss” course when you are in town. This course is often described as the best 9-hole course in Southern Maine.

Food choices are somewhat limited but beer and wine selection is above average. The Pro Shop is small with a limited selection, but is expanding.

Rivermeadow is a quaint but challenging 9-hole track. Your accuracy will be put to the test on some holes due to the narrow fairways and tall trees. Shot-shapers and big-hitters can go-for-it, yet the course is very enjoyable for the high-handicappers too. This course will not kill you with its yardage. Its modestly sized greens will test your accuracy. Greens seldom roll faster than a 10 on the Stimpmeter.
