Shoots in the 80s

As the previous poster described it, this course is short, cramped and quirky. Just what you'd expect for a course built in the 1890's on 96 acres. As a former member, I've played lots of rounds there, most involving some sort of competition with money on the line. If you're a hacker, this is not your place. Fairways, greens, bunkers and rough were always almost perfect except during routine aerification. Greens are very small and true and usually fast. Long drivers could get by with fairway woods, hybrids or long irons off the 4's and 5's. Large grass practice range well maintained. Walkable but has some topo. Competent caddies available. If invited to play, don't dress like a street thug and don't wear your baseball hat backwards.

About as good as it gets.

Shoots in the 80s

Elkridge is exclusive, and you won't get to play there without being invited. But don't feel left out. The course is short, quirky and cramped. The bad and ugly holes outnumber the few good ones. Leave your driver in the bag. In fact, leave your bag in the trunk of your car and head somewhere else.

Customer Service

The staff is friendly, though reserved in a upscale sort of way.
