Shoots in the 90s

The management at this course is horrid. I booked a tee time through their website for $65, indicating that it would post now and I would not be charged upon arrival. Then, when I arrive I am charged $49 (apparently this is an imaginary rate created by incompetent staff). Low and behold they did not realize I had been charged twice. I brought this to Rob Bailey's attention and, as suspected, Bay Club was very tacky in handling this. Not only did it take over a week for them to return my funds, they took the low road and refunded the incorrect charge of $49. On top of that they acted as if they wanted an apology from me. I found this to be offensive, and the lack of customer service lead me to feel strongly enough to share. I hope it was worth it to them.

Not in great shape, though went at end of March, sand traps more like cement traps, greens being aerated so more of a rocky road than a real green. When in Ocean City, go to Rum Point and Lighthouse SOund, two of the finer courses I've ever played.

This is a pretty flat course, but so are most on the Eastern Shore. We played the West course. Don't let the first hole fool you. This course has several really fun holes, a couple of relaxign holes, and is also well maintained. Everyone in our group would play it again. Devil's Island may test your blood pressure, so take it easy. Nice staff. They were doing renovations to the clubhouse when we were there.

A traditional beach layout that is fairly straightforward. It's pretty flat which didn't impress me much. It is still challenging, but it wouldn't be my first choice in O.C. That would go to Eagles Landing.

The Bay Club is an upscale public course near Ocean City, MD. They have one of the most organized staffs I have ever seen. There are usually 4 - 5 staff people at the starting area for both courses and rangers that regularly patrol the course. Plan on being pampered by the staff. They will get your clubs out of your car at the drop off point and will clean them before putting them back into your car.
West Course: The course will be difficult for you if you spray the ball because there are no adjacent fairways to spray into. Most holes are surrounded by wooded areas. Two island green par threes and very challanging finishing holes on each nine, which are par fives with your third shot over water into narrow greens. I played during the twilight hours and the greens and tees showed the effects of the very heavy play that day. Greens held well considering the time of day and the warm weather. I played the East course last year and found it to be a little tighter than the West course. It has Zoiza grass fairways.
