Clustered Spires is a great value; you can always count on the course as being in good condition that plays at a nice pace. It's challenging but not very difficult. I average about four strokes better on it than most courses due to it being pretty open. It has a nice mix of holes.

Great course for the price. Greens are always in exceptional condition. Fairways are wide and open. At the end of the round you will definitely shoot 3 or 4 strokes less than your normal handicap. That way it feels great to play here.

Clustered Spires is a really great course. If you are visiting Frederick, or looking to golf in the area, it is definitely the best value you will find, and one of the areas' best courses. There is some wonderful scenery and enough water to keep things interesting, but not enough to affect your score sheet if you play it safe.

The fairways and greens at Clustered Spires are always in great condition. Even in dry years, they manage to kept the fairways soft and lush. It is a public course, but is kept in better shape than most private courses I've played.

The course is mostly pretty wide open and forgiving to players who slice or hook out of the teebox, and the rough is not too thick either. The greens are interesting, challenging, and generally bunkered and elevated nicely. The back nine has some holes in the woods, which is nice for variety and also challenges the one's accuracy a little more than the front nine.

Overall, Clustered is a beautiful course that is great for beginners, but also has some features that will challenge intermediate and advanced players. I've probably played about 20 courses over the past decade or so, and Clustered Spires is definitely in my top three.
