This course is my High School home course (Tuscarora High) I am a freshmen on the team. The course is very nice fast greens and the Pro there (Ed) is very nice. You will love this course I can't wait till next season.

Shoots in the 80s

I played Worthington in between the drops during the month of rain (May 2003). Needless to say, the course was green, green, green but surprisingly well drained. Tee boxes and fairways were perfect. You get the feeling that the lies you get in the fairway are similar to what the Pro's play off of. Par three's are difficult on this course with carries either over water or over waste areas and some of the greens were large and tiered. There are not too many trees to contend with, however, the lack of trees may disrupt your sense of depth perception. The par four's were not overly long from the Blue tee's (I hit my drives between 240 and 280 on avg.) I usually had between 5 iron to Wedge to the greens. The par five's are interesting, you usually can't see the green until your third shot and there is always some kind of trouble that you have to consider if you are going to try to "go for it" in two. The greens rolled nicely (despite the emerging worms b/c of all the rain). The greenside bunkers played surprisingly well despite some standing water. I can't wait to play this course again when we don't have so much rain. Before you go out, take a look at the lunch menu, b/c they have a telephone on the 9th tee to place lunch orders. The staff were courteous and beverage cart made regular rounds. Overall, it was a nice round of golf for just under $80.

The US Open Qualifier is played here. The condition is very good and the staff is GREAT!!! Plays 143 slope from the back tees. Lots of carry's. The first four holes ask it all of you.
