Swan Creek is a very short course. However, the grounds are very well-maintained and there are some tremendous water views (it occupies half of a peninsula that juts into the Chesapeake Bay). As the course shares its peninsula perch with the Ashley Mansion, some back holes have a great view of Ashley and are worth the trip alone, especially about half an hour before sunset on an uncrowded midweek evening. The course is family-owned and is operated like it: friendly staff, polite members (everyone says hi and doesn''t rush you), decent pub fare, quaint clubhouse. The course has a beautiful approach from Route 40: a chicanerous road that winds its way around an entire half of the course and eventually meets the water and the owner''s mansion home. The course itself play very well. It is not uncommon for folks to hit a hole-in-one on 10, especially during Member-Guest Weekend. Again, it is a very short course and 18 holes can be wrapped up after work/before dark. All in all, a fairly easy course, but beautiful nonetheless. Worth going on an evening just to see the contrast of the white Ashley mansion, the dark green of the fairway and the deep red of the setting sun. PS - I was raised since birth going to Swan Creek so I am clearly biased. In addition to golf, there is a popular swimming pool and tennis program.
