Shoots in the 80s

I should advertise up front that this is my home course, and I play it more than I should. The course winds thru a residential neighborhood and is not terribly long. It is, however, very tight. You can leave your driver in the trunk. Most players unfamiliar with the course (and many that are familiar with the course) will lose a few balls per round. The front starts out strong with 410 and 420 yard par 4s. Even good players are happy to get past #2 with a bogey. Thereafter, the front plays fairly straightforward. The trouble starts on the back, where even the smallest deviation off the tee will cost you two strokes. Numbers 10, 13 and 16, in particular, are very, very challenging. Number 10 is a par 4 that might as well be a par 5. Numbers 13 and 16 are both par 5s. Number 13 gives you very little room to drive the ball, while #16 offers you a completely blind second shot. Number 17 requires you to place your drive in an area the size of a tea cup, while #18 is straight uphill. The course will get you somewhere. Most players finish the round with a sense of relief rather than the thrill of victory. You don't see too many high-5s from players walking off 18. This is a course for real golfers, and only the gutsy return.

Customer Service

Very good. The staff tries hard, but they are chronically undermanned. Food service is minimal for the same reason.

The range has well-worn mats and is fairly short. A good drive will carry the fence and land in the 8th fairway.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COURSE! Because I want to keep it all to myself. Seriously, it''''s very little used, probably because it is very demanding. They are opening the course up some, to make it a bit easier to play, but don''''t tell anyone, please.

Customer Service

Fine, nothing fancy here. This is for golfers, not schmoozers.

Range is undistinguished--mats, no grass. But you don''''t find grass very often any more.
