Shoots in the 70s

We had a very negative experience at this place. This short course causes backups and delays because almost all of the par 4's are driveable, which means you have to wait on the tee boxes until a foursome in front of you putts out before you can even tee-off.
The Marshalls were rude and one of them named Don, actually cussed at us when we protested his judgement that we were holding up play because we were a shot behind the group in front of us! We were on the tee box of a blind par 3 "carnival-type" hole where you had to ring a bell on a pole after you've putted out to let the group behind you know your done....so guess what...the bell didn't work. We waited 5 minutes on the tee box before driving up to see what was taking so long and find the group ahead was off the green and only 200 yards up the next fairway, but Marshall Don swoops in and jumps on us to pick up our play while we're putting. We tried to enjoy the rest of the day, but he comes back at us 14 holes later to give us more grief on hole #17, calling us smart-a$$es when we asked him if we'd been keeping up a better pace. In my 40 years of playing golf, this was the worst....Even the club pro there, while we tried to lodge a complaint against the Marshall, twisted his face and rolled his eyes at us in disgust and disbelief, all the while, trying to give our foursome a free pass to come back. Why is it beyond some people to simply say "We're sorry you had a bad experience Sir, we'll make sure this doesn't happen again." We declined the offer for the free rounds because of the tone of his voice and the lack of sincerity in the gesture, and we are taking the Marshalls advice when he told us earlier, "Maybe this isn't the type of golf course you should be playing!"
Thanks for the advice, Marshall Don, I guess you guys don't need the paying customers in your line of work, or care about repeat business in this economy!! And a bad rating from only one foursome posted on the Internet won't hurt you in the longrun......right?

Customer Service

Cart girl was nice. We tipped her well and she visited us often.
Marshall and club pro brought service level way down, though

Best value in CO, and cool golf to escape the Texas summer... Great course conditions and great scenery. I had to let a herd of elk play through on the back nine!

Shoots in the 80s

Well Evergreen is the only Public Course in the evergreen/conifer area. The course is placed beautifully in the mountains with elk often being seen in the twilight hours. It's a true mountain course however, with not the best of grass on fairways, rough, or greens. Plays very narrow with several wicked blind shots. If you go astray into the woods you'll never recover without seriously damaging your clubs. Also didn't have a driving range, just a one man net to hit into.

Customer Service

Seemed nice enough
