Shoots in the 100s

This is undoubtedly the worst golf course I have ever played. The tees were ok because you used a tee. The fairways were cultivated crabgrass and were like a washboard. Had to go to the chiropractor after riding them. Where there was grass on the greens, they were filled with ball marks. If I wasn't so disappointed, I might have had something from the restaurant.

Shoots in the 80s

Are you kidding me? This course is a dump, flat out a dump!!! On the first green, there is a drianage grate raised about 1 inch off the surface of the putting green, yes, I said the putting green! To really make it a true mini golf experience all they ned to add to the drainage ditch and the sprinker head is a windmill. I was so disillusioned that after 8 holes I decided to pack it in after paying for 18 (see the next box for customer service) The 2nd, 3rd, and 4th holes are simply horrendous with unrepaired divots, tee markers that were missing, and fairways that have not seen a lawnmower for at least a month and the rough was filled with actual pot holes that rival those in downtown Boston after the winter. The 6th hole was decent, but my favorite disaster was number 7. This little gem of a hole is a 208 yard par three from the tips, when I hit the green, the ball shot about 40 feet in the air from being so hard, then, I walked up to the green and it had baron patches of dirt where grass once was I suppose. This first patch that I had to putt through was 16 feet, then some grass, then about another 10 feet of Sahara. 18 was yet another par 3 (nice design to slow up play, did I mention the slow play, I am sure I did) which was in need of water.

Customer Service

When I approached the pro shop, they were polite and amiable and refunded my second nine which was nice, the GM was courteous and pleasant and told me that they are tne new management company (Sterling Golf Management) and they just got the place, they have done wonders with Shattuck, Newton Commonwealth, and Chelmsford, so I will play again in about two years once they are up to speed.

Shoot in the 90s

Norwood CC is a good course for beginners or average players who can hit the ball straight. It is pretty short and is not too exciting of a course...it is not hilly and there are few bends or curves....its open so that on most holes if your tee shot is left or right you have a pretty good chance of finding it on an adjacent fairway. the greens arent bad as there is some fun putting. the course is in decent shape usually, except when it rains because it is sitting on a swamp.
