Shoots in the 80s

I have been living in Boston for 2 years only and my knowledge about golf courses in the Boston area is not extensive but I can tell you that, by far, Stow Acres is my favorite golf course! I returned there on many occasions (played the North and South). I also think that the tee times are really affordable. I found the maintenance of the course very good.

I have played both the North and South about 20 times each over the past 3 years. Both are decent, but not great. I don't expect 4 star condition, but would like to see the condition improved to meet their current prices. If they increase prices again I will probably play Butternut more.

I played both courses and the greens were in terrible shape. When I'm paying good money to play a course I expect it to be in good shape. This course has been going down hill ever since it was bought and I will never play at Stow again unless someone tells me it has been upgraded.

I played the north course. Stow acres is way over priced at $69. The reason is the fairways are in bad shape. The greens are not that great either. It is so true to what a previous reviewer said "The course just screams out we don't care" WE will charge a premium price and hardly put back money to make the course better. On a good note though. The staff was very friendly. I'm sad to say I will not be playing at Stow Acres again. Unless things change.

These other two guys are Homos! They complain about the course, yet they still play there every week. Hmm..I wonder why? Because they have the best conditions in the area as far as public courses go.

I play in a league at Stow so I'm on one of the two courses every week after work. The layout of the courses is excellent but their condition is not. The tees are always "iffy" and this year the greens are terrible (it was a tough winter and they never came all the way back). There are always lot's of little things that just scream "we don't care". The ball washers are often dry. The toilets in the mens room flood every other week, the water fountain in the clubhouse broke and was not repaired/replaced. This is supposed to be the EASY stuff. Pace of play varies from slow to unbarable yet I havn't seen a ranger in over 2 years (I suspect the time of day I play has a lot to do with this but...). If they are going to continue to provide municipal course quality, they should charge municipal course prices. Go to Butternut or Juniper Hill

I play here every weekend with my foursome. You need to get out before 8:30 on weekends or course can play very slow. Plenty of rangers but not much use once course is full of golfers. Tee time spacing was increased half minute this year to speed play. North course is layout we prefer. Tree lined fairways and a few ponds make for a very aesthetically pleasing course. It's also much flater than the south. Greens on both courses are very good by end of May, sketchy before that. Fairways are decent but not great, tee boxes are poor. Mgmt has done some improvements each year, hopefully tee boxes soon. South course has a few holes with big elevation changes on the back nine, puts premium on ball placement. Stow is not in upper echelon (Cyprian Keyes, Waverly Oaks) in terms of course conditions but its a solid golf facility.
