Shoots in the 80s

Course layout and condition was good but I have to comment on the amount of time taken to play 18 holes. - 5.5 hours. They seem to have little time allowed between start times, so before long we were waiting 20 mins on some holes to tee off. We even switched to replaying the front nine as there were 5 groups waiting on the 10th! I do not advise playing here if you wish to get a quick game in - but it is ok if you have all day. Also - a Friend of mine called one morning to ask if they have tee times and he was told No! (He is Irish and has an Irish accent). Out of curiousity his friend called immediately after (who is American - and they said they had tee times available and was able to book a tee time. On hearing this - It confirmed my decision not to play there again.

Customer Service

Staff were pleasant and courteous - but the ranger did not seem to do anything but just ride around in his cart. It was clear which groups were holding up play but I never seem him approach them once to ask them to increase their pace.

Played many courses around MA - too many to list. I haven't played Sandy Burr for a long time and it i will be a long time before I play it again. Wayland Golf (Just 5 minutes from Sandy Burr) although the course is not in as good a condition - you can play at a reasonable pace for a reasonable price. I wish I had gone there instead.

Wide open, short course. I bring my friends here who shoot in the 100s. Fairways, greens and tees are decent. they pack 'em in on the weekend and I have never seen a ranger here. I played a 6hr round here last summer. The old guys who manage the starter/shop are not very nice.

Being in the area I get to to play the course quite often, however it can be a bit frustrating as the conditions tend be crowded, especially on weekends. The fairways are always in great shape and as of lae the greens have been a bit quicker than they have been in the past.

Customer Service

Everyone seems to be friendly and courteous, although getting some on the phone in the pro shop can be difficult near the end of the day.

Shoots in the 90s

The "New" Sandy Burr Country Club provides a challenging and yet fair test of your golf skills. The fairways are wide and typically are in excellent condition. The greens are moderately fast, some are quite challenging, such as on the 9th, a 280 yd par 4, uphill with the green severely sloping towards you. There are some very easy holes; the 1st is a 470 yd par 5 which is wide open. Also, the 11th is a 450 yd par 5 from an elevated tee which gives a terrific view. There are several par 400yd+ par 4''s which require 2 good shots to reach the green. The par 3''s vary from the tough 10th, a 193 yd uphill to a tiered green to a very easy 147 yd (plays shorter) 3rd hole. The finishing holes are the toughest part of the course, a 409 yd 16th, 521 yd 17th and an uphill 406 yd 18th. The greens are in very good shape although the 13th has suffered a bit. The course is conducive to walking (I carry) . All in all a nice golf experience for the money

Shoot in the 90s

i played here on 5-31-01. the course overall was in good condition. the tee boxes were pretty good. some of the greens were sandy which made them fast. only one of them was irrigated.the tenth hole is a par 3 which is about 225yds and uphill, very challenging, tough to get it to stay on the green if you even make it. the change i would make would be to add a range and make the putting practice area larger. prices range from 50-90.
