When you hear private country club, you typically think of a very nice course. That is not the case for Pinebrook Country Club. They offer non-member play and I had a coupon for two for one, which made it $47 for my me and my wife. I cannot imagine ever paying $47 to play this course.

The only good thing about the course is the greens, which are difficult and undulating, fast and in pretty good shape (except one hole with tire tracks going in circles on it). Other than that, the course is in very bad shape. The tee boxes are barely distinguishable from the rough, the fairways are spotty, the rough is basically just weeds and dirt, and you usually can't tell where the bunkers begin and end. Also, this was our first time playing the course and neither the scorecard or the non-existent hole markers had maps on them, so many time I had no idea where I was supposed to hit it. At least four or five times I knew the hole was a dogleg cause there was nothing straight, but I didn't know if it went right or left so I had to hit an iron to where I could see and find out once I got there.

Customer Service

Customer service wasn't the best either. When I called to make a tee time, I felt like I was applying for a tee time. They asked me a bunch of questions making sure me and my playing partners would be fast enough for their standards (less than 4 hours). Once I got to the course, the man in the pro shop was not very polite and didn't make me feel welcome.

This was the first and last time I play this course. Other courses which are much better in the area (and a lot cheaper) are Tanglewood (Championship), Meadowlands, and Salem Glen.
