Model Reviewed: Arcadia Bluffs

Arcadia Bluffs is the most beautiful Golf Course I have ever seen or played. I have been to Pebble Beach to witness the Pro-Am in 2003 but Arcadia exceeds it in sheer beauty. I had a great two and a half days of golfing here and would come back in a heart beat!

Customer Service

Excellent !!! Very friendly and courteous staff. They treat you like you are royalty!!!

Arcadia Bluffs has found a place in my heart. I grew up in the piedmont of North Carolina, another golf haven, playing the likes of Forest Oaks (PGA Greater Greensboro Chrysler Classic site) and other magnificent courses in the area. After I moved to Michigan, my fears became reality...that my golf would be shortened with the long winters and short seasons. Fortunately, Arcadia Bluffs exists...and it has become an annual stop for me and my closest friends on our yearly golf tours around the state of Michigan. This year (2005) will be the third visit to Arcadia Bluffs for us. With a tee time the first week of May, and currently being February with snow coming down, I can see the light that is Arcadia Bluffs at the end of the tunnel. Compare it to a child on Christmas eve impatiently waiting for morning to come...that is Arcadia Bluffs to me this last year, this year, and hopefully years to come.

Customer Service

Impeccable. While placing my tee time this year, Bill remembered me from our first trip there three years ago! Also, my friend locked our clubs in his car in the parking lot prior to our round our first year there, and like a swarm of bees, the staff came to our rescue and got us into the car (and onto the course) on time! Good thing to know if you ever do the same! Oh-can't forget about finding my friend's lob wedge and returning it to him at the end of our round that same day. These guys are good!

Arcadia Bluffs is a great experience. It is a challenging layout that is also very scenic. The course fits in very naturally in the dunes and the undulation of the greens, while severe, is not contrived. We played it on a sunny day with enough wind to make you know where you are but nothing extreme. It is good links golf reminiscent of (but not quite the same) the Monterey Peninsula.

One of the most enjoyable days I've ever spent on a golf course. The views were the best I've seen. The course itself is difficult but fair. Despite huge, undulating greens, the pin placements were reasonable on the day I played, howeverI can imagine some truly evil placements.

Customer Service

Very Good

I enjoyed the sites of the course and the buety but it was to easy. I played ok and i still shot a 68 and had three 3-putt greens. I have played many amazing courses like pebble and augusta. Arcadia is a lot prettier but way to easy.

Absolutely AMAZING. This may very well be the best course in Michigan and/or the midwest period. I have played this course three times and one thing I will say is do yourself a favor and play on a Sunny day. The views over Lake Michigan are among the best you will see on or off a golf course. I took almost one full roll of film and wish I had my digital camera with me at the time. A word of warning however, if you are not a single digit handicap (truly single digit not at your club) then do NOT play the back tees. This course is difficult enough from the whites, but if you play the back tees look out. The greens are very difficult as well and the first time you play being on the wrong side can hurt but any new championship course will be tough that way. Lake Michigan can really effect the course as well. The final par 3 on the front has caused me to hit a 3 Wood one day and a 9 iron another day. 300 yard drives are as plentiful as 200 yard drives. Make sure to watch the wind! An additional bonus is the first class 5 star restaurant. You can have a great round of golf followed by a 1st class dinner.

Customer Service

Top notch at every level from cart guy to the waitresses.

WOW! Before teeing off the spectacular views begin. I submitted a picture taken from the clubhouse at (http://gallery.consumerreview.com/golf/gallery/files/arcadia_view_clubhouse.asp) Well worth the trip to somewhat remote Arcadia, Michigan which is on Lake Michigan to play a course unlike all others I've played so far. The fairway widths are a little tight for the double bogey golfer with heather everywhere and a deep pot bunkers waiting to gobble up stray balls. The undulating greens were quick and challenging and in great shape even after the September airation. Being a 3rd year woman player I played from the forward tees. I played the course very well only finding one green-side sod bunker, never once was in the heather, and my putting was as "on" as it gets. I was quite pleased to walk away with a 94 on the scorecard.

Customer Service

Excellent! Everyone from the pro shop folks to the guy driving the cart taxi was as nice as could be.

Arcadia Bluff Golf Club is amazing. Great views from most of the holes overseeing Lake Michigan. The coarse was in very good shape and the people were very friendly. The greens were a bit to hard for me, I usualy have and average off thirty putts in 18 holes. When I was there, i was striking the ball very well but I had 46 putts on that coarse. THis is by far the best coarse i have ever played

Playing this course is a very fun and unique experience. It has fantastic views from all around the course. Lake Michigan can be seen from every hole and the clubhouse really adds to the beautiful setting. I’ve played the course three times now, and I can’t wait to go back. It’s expensive, but the amenities are as good or better than the country clubs that I’ve played. The best thing about the course is the links style layout, which includes sod wall bunkers that are scattered around the course. They can be deep and menacing, but really add to the flavor and fun of the course. You don’t get to play this kind of golf much in the Midwest. There aren’t many trees on the course but each hole is framed with heather covered hills that make each hole distinctive. The layout is very solid, with plenty of opportunities to score well but also enough trouble to make it very challenging. So even if it didn’t have the lake as a backdrop it would be a treat to play over and over. Each time that I’ve played it, the condition of the course has been very good. This course is the second best course I’ve ever played. Right behind Pebble Beach. It’s similar to The Links at Spanish Bay but better. It even had someone playing a bagpipe at the end of the day, just like Spanish Bay.

Customer Service

The people there were very friendly and helpful. My only issue was being asked to leave the course after 16 holes because the course closes at sunset. The problem was that the two groups ahead of us t

A good practice facility with a couple of deep sod wall bunkers is helpful. I highly recommend arriving early to practice that shot. The restaurant and grill are also very good.
