I enjoy playing Candlestone as long as I have a coupon, some time to drive there and 1/4 tank of gas (I live in Kentwwod). Challenging course and fun coming in on either 9.

I started playing Candlestone probably about 3-4 years ago and now it has become my home course, primarily because of the group of guys we play with but I enjoy the layout. Candlestone is the home of the West Michigan Am every year...with fast, smooth greens this course will test even the seasoned veteran from the tips.
Personally I've come into 16 even par before and left 3 over because of how demanding the last couple holes are, you need to keep it straight and out of the Pines/Thick Oaks that linger along the fairways.
A typical weekday round will take no more than 3 and half hours, good practice facility and the 19th hole is always a treat with HD Projectors to boot. Great course for the money.
I don't rate it up there with some of the other courses in the area but if you are looking for a challenging course and not too expensive this is your layout.

Candlestone is a great track for golfers of all playing levels. The course was in great shape and these were some of the best greens I've putted on in a while. Last for holes are spectacular. Open but tight, with lots of trees but opportunity to punch out. Love this course.
