Being a caddie at Oaklnad Hills has been an inspiration for me because when I step on the course, I feel in immediate chill down my spine because I remember the history that has been at this golf course. My first time out to play golf was on a monday on the morth course. I thought playing this course would be a piece of cake, I was wrong. Usually i shoot in the upper 70''s to lower 80''s at other courses around MIchigan. I didn''t have a scorecard but when I was done playing 18 holes, i must have shot around 120. This has turned into one of my favorite courses and i guarante it will be one of your favorites too.

well, they could let us play the south a bit more

Well, since i am i caddy here i don't get to play the south much, once a year. but i wouldn't miss that day for a lot of money. the course is great, the greens are tuff to explain to people who haven't played them. the course is always in the best condition b/c we have a great group of greens keeps. the north course, i get to play that once a week on mondays is a great round of golf. it will test all your skills and let go flat out go for it on some holes.

The only way this "Monster" can be tamed is when the greens are soft. When they are dry and fast...Putt and pray! A long putt can break four times before it gets to the hole! Davis Love still can't believe that he missed that 2 footer on 18 to lose the '96 Open!

The course(s) has no weakness...except it is a private course so you have to find a member... and if you have to pay: 3 players, 3 caddies (yep...I said caddies), lunch ...you bill :$750 (No one said "heaven" was cheap!)

Normally I shoot in the 70's...Not here. Best round is low 80's..and I kep coming back.

South course: is the signature course where the Opens have and will be played; where the Ryder Cup is to be played and where the U.S. Amateur will be played. There is no finer couse in the mid-west. Great tradition. As you walk the course, you can reflect on the truly greats who have won and or been humbled by this magnificient treasure. The signature hole is 16...What a golf hole. Ben Hogan called this course "the Monster" for a good reason. Not unusual to be playing par golf and the "Monster" jumps up and "bites you....bogey, double, quad....there goes your round.

North course: is maybe as nice or nicer than the South. If given the chance, do not miss this wonderful test of golf. Truly beautiful!

Both are beautifully maintained. Gorgeous practice range and the practice green overlooks the South course...Wow!!!
