Horrible condition, but a great layout. If somebody could dump some money into it, the place would be really nice. Good for beginning golfers.

Despite the warnings, I played the 18-hole par-3 Cypress Greens golf course. And by lord, the other reviewers weren't exaggerating. It was the worst course *EVER*. You literally couldn't tee the ball in 16/18 holes unless you had a hammer and lots of water to soften the ground. The greens themselves were terrible, very dry and excruciatingly slow. There wasn't a single good hole on the course.

Also another reviewer had a comment about how if you hit a putter you could hit the ball to the green. Well, I amost managed that, I must've hit a 9-iron on a 125 yard hole - it bounced around 100 yards and rolled off to about 10-15 yards beyong the green like a crazy ball.

Since I just couldn't believe it, I peeked over to see their regular 18-hole course, and that "looked" better (there seemed to be much more grass over there atleast).

Stay away from this course. The whole course is not maintained at all. The grass was so brown, I swear I could start a grass fire with a magnifying glass. the ground was so hard I could putt the ball from the tee off area and it would reach the green. Don't even think about trying to put a tee into the ground.

To use the word "Pit" to describe this course is an insult to the word pit. How many courses have you played lately that have permanently installed 2 foot high sprinkler heads in almost every fairway and on half the greens? When was the last time you had a ball roll into an exposed dry well that seems to go all the way to China? Although the cost is very cheap, you get less then what you paid for.

pleasant hills is an older course with a nice mix of short and long holes making it an enjoyable play experience.
while maintenance was at one time poor they have worked to improve the conditions of the fairways and greens and it has made a large improvement
