Shoots in the 70s

Very close to a true links experience. No trees, realistic faux-dunes mounding and green complexes, steady wind (at least on the days I've played) and the uneven maintenance and spartan amenities of many Scottish links courses. One poorly designed hole (11), rough that's a bit too tame and clay rather than sandy soil, but overall a very affordable way to sample golf as played seaside in Great Britain. I enjoyed it tremendously.

Customer Service

Quite good service, but very little on offer in the pro shop.

What a piece of crap this place is. Since Indianwood sold it to the owners of Devils Ridge the place has gone downhill. I'll never play there again.

Customer Service

Terrible. When I first walked into the "clubhouse", (I put it in quotes cuz it really isn't a club house it's a pole barn with some carpet in it) there wasn't anybody at the counter. There was one

Shoot in the 70s

This is one of my favorite local courses. Not too pricy (I think it's about $55 on weekends), the tee times are spread apart enough where you're not waiting on every shot, and a nice variety of holes.

Large greens, and in fact, they claim to have the largest green in Michigan on the 18th hole. It's something like 20,000 sq feet. It's the biggest one I've ever seen, and a good 2-3 club difference between the front and back.

Very tough greens, generally quite fast but fair. Fairways hard and fast (like I believe most links style courses are), and well placed heather. Not completely a killer if you miss the fairway. Plenty of regular rough to hit into, and you generally have to spray it pretty bad to be in the deep stuff.

Not much in the way of hazards beyond the heather. I recall water on two holes, #2, and maybe #13??

There isn't much of a clubhouse to speak of, and as of the end of last year, they still couldn't sell beer. I guess you need a real restaurant facility built to be allowed to sell beer.

Shoot in the 90s

Links style course with a lot of character. I have played here two times and like it very much. Trouble all around, tall heather and rough. If you arn't careful you will loose many balls in the thick stuff. The greens are tricky with many breaks and tend to be very fast. Good place to play!

Customer Service

Friendly Staff good prices on off hours.
