Mississippi Dunes is a very scenic and well kept track that isn't all that easy to find and getting back home is even more challenging. The course itself is called links style golf but I have played links style courses before and this is NOT link style golf! With that said, there are sand traps in the middle of a few fairways and rolling terrain on a few others. But other than that, this is your normal track with exceptional views and a track that is well groomed & maintained. I highly recommend that you play this course later in the spring or in the early summer to get all of the beauty that this course has to offer. (It is one of it's real strengths) While it was still scenic in April, give it a month or two and the view will be breathtaking and the sounds of the Mississippi River are soothing and tranquil. The course is set-up very well with just the right amount of par 3's, 4's and 5's, which will give any level of golfer a nice challenge and run for there money. There aren't many gimmicky holes on this track but the 91 yard, par 3, on #9 is as close as it gets. Beware ...it plays a lot shorter than that from the whites! The greens are well kept and quite challenging. They are also lots of fun and reading the line on a long putt is tricky. Bring your putting, "A game!" In closing, this is a nice, solid track that has become semi-private (For what reason I have no idea) and IMHO, will have a very tough time being successful doing so. It's a nice track ...but not even close to being private club material IMO. A very nice public course though.

Customer Service

Below average (Not a strength of the course IMO)and needs great improvement!!!

Practice greens are a joke and way to close to the parking lot and cart paths. Don't even bother pulling out your wedges to practice chipping. Ball will go "bye-bye."

I LOVE THIS COURSE!! That said I probably won't be playing it much anymore as they've gone from being a truly public tract to a private club. What a shame as I used to play here 2-3 times per month. If you are looking for a challenge, this is it! If you are looking for the most unique course you've ever played, this is it. If you are looking to forget that you are playing golf in Minnesota, this is it!

Customer Service

Always the best!

A gorgeous course that starts on the Mississippi river and plays uphill from there. It's very challenging ( the rough is long grass like you would see in Scottland and the greens are all elevated so chipping can be absolutely brutal). The overall experience is enjoyable and the course is in terrific shape.

Here is a neat, links-style course that challenges your iron play. The greens are large but elevated like tree stumps rising out of the prairie grass. The course offers many different types of holes including bunkers framed with railroad ties, elevation changes, and the aforementioned green construction. If you can get to this course (follow the directions carefully... there AND back), its a great value and a beautiful experience.
