This was the hilliest course I had played until I played Lake Superior National Golf Course: the River 9 and Canyon 9 circuits. Like Superior National, the Lost Spur Golf Course has has great scenic vistas at many of the tees, overlooking the Minnesota River Valley from the west as it meets the Mississippi River Valley from the north. We walked this the first time we played it - we won't make that mistake again - my knees are 5 years from replacements. But - on with it - the gameplay at Lost Spur: I thought it was excellent given the extremely hilly environment. It has a good buffer of groomed rough allowing for redemption of poor shots and unforunate lays (unlike Superior National). I still talk about this course and I've only played it twice. The Lost Spur's tees, fairways and greens will prove memorable. I feel cheated when I finish a round at a new course and I can't remember the character of a single tee, fairway or green. This course will give you memories and that taunt to - try again. You won't get bored when there are so many ways to play this course.

Customer Service

Supurb - I played this course just after it went public (it had been a private club) and I expected an amount of resentment - saw none got none - even though I am deserving.

Superior National Golf Course. Consider Lost Spur a "warm up driving range and putting green" for Superior National - because Superior National penalizes imperfect shots with impossible rough.
