Hands down the best municipal course in the Twin Cities. Always a joy playing here. Can be slow if you get out after noon, but so can any other place, so get up a little earlier than norm and hit this course if you want to avoid a 5 hour round.
Course is always in good shape.
The oak tree in front of the green on #4 is purely a mind game. If you hit your normal 135 yd club straight(which should have some loft) you will have no problem plopping one on the green and hitting the tree. Mizunogolfer who complained about everything on this course should stay at a private country club....although he called #4 gimmicky, Maybe it's the golfer and not the course!

Customer Service

good.

The vast majority of the municipal courses in the twin cities. Keller is by far the best.

The course itself is a great old layout, lots of history to the place, used to be a tour stop, and two PGAs were played there. That's the good part. The bad part is that the customer service is not just bad, it's horrible. It will take you more than five hours to play, the ranger won't care about anything and the staff in the shop can't be bothered for anything. I played there once for the history, and will never go back again.

Once again, you can't trust what this rube MizunoGolfer says. He wrote another review about River Oaks in Cottage Grove blasting it, and was completely off base.

I played Keller 1 time this year, don't get there as often as I'd like. It's one of the great old courses in Minnesota. If they had the budget that Minnekahda or Interlachen has for maintenance, this course would be one of the top 3-5 in the state easy.

Even with their limited maintenace budget due to being a muni, they do a great job. Greens always firm and fast, fairways in good shape and firm.

If you don't like this course you are a bum. That is MizunoGolfer. I would hate to see what kind of course this rube likes.

After hearing many good things about Keller, a friend and I decided to play it. After our 5 hour and 20 minute round, just let me say that I have lived and golfed in five different states and golfed in many other countries as well. With that said, I have NEVER had a WORSE experience then I had at Keller yesterday. First off, tee times are only taken by phone, through a live human being, which is OK. However, if that's the case, please let the patron know that you have a ladies tournament going on at the same time as the tee time that you offered me. There is NO excuse for the Keller representative NOT telling me this. The course and clubhouse are both aged (old as dirt) and have been ignored for sometime now. The missing sign saying "men's bathroom" on the door was just the start as I saw dead mice and plenty of water damage inside the clubhouse. The course wasn't much better. The tee boxes and greens were like dirt sprinkled with fertilizer. I can't tell you how many times that I putted off of dirt at Keller yesterday. There were probably 2-3 really nice fairways but other than that, it was the worst course that I've played EVER!!! Hole #4 is just plain silly with a tree smack dab in front of the green on a Par 3. What kind of gimmicky nonsense is that? As far as customer service goes, there is NONE!!! My partner asked the cart girl for a burger or to get/order a burger in advance and she said that she wouldn't! Huh? Finally, we get to the turn at #11 where they ask you to "pit stop" and we were refused a burger again because we were still playing, even though there were EIGHT people waiting to tee off in front of us on #11!!! Oh yes, we never saw a ranger until hole #15 when a female patron complained about the slowness of play ...good for you honey, you're my hero! I called the course today and explained my unhappiness about our round yesterday and they said that they would have offered me a free nine holes if I would have came in after the round yesterday, but that it's too late now. Let me tell you something Tom ...It' NEVER too late to make things right, but you chose not to, and you just lost at least two golfers forever. In conclusion, I know it's all about money but taking care of your patron should rank somewhere up there, but at Keller, it's not even given a second thought! Golf at your own risk!

The Clubhouse was old and smelled of mold. Please put a damned "men's" sign on the men's bathroon, so that I know that I'm going in the right bathroom. Also, Thomas Edison invented the light bulb years ago, go to Target and buy a few for the clubhouse, near the bathroom & lockers.

Keller is always a joy to play. Fast greens, good conditions. Tight course with lots of trees. If you're spraying your driver, keep it in the bag. Be careful of errant tee shots. Lots of tee boxes near the greens can make things very interesting! One of the best par 3's in the state is number 4. I won't ruin the surprise, you just have to see it! For the conditions the price is great.

Customer Service

I love this golf course! I live nearby and try to play often. The staff is professional and the course is wonderful. I tell people about Keller all the time. The PGA/ LPGA history etc... If you have never played Keller, you are missing out.

Best public course in the twin cities. I live a couple blocks away and play this course more than any other course around and i must say that it is always a pleasure to get back there. Just knowing that legends like, Palmer, Snead, Venturi and much more played there is pretty cool, it really is as good as any private club that i've seen (caddied 2) too. Greens fees $26.00 and $17.00 twilight.

Probably the best muni course in town. Fast greens make it slightly tough, but generous fairways and the short rough make it playable for all levels

Customer Service

The older group of guys here really are fantastic.

Course was in absolutely great conditions. Since this is an old course( was a stop on thee PGA tour in 30-50's) there are many mature trees to get in the way of errant shots. Greens were somewhat small, but in perfect condition. Will play again.
