We played the Highlands course and it was spectacular. It felt like I was back in the highlands of Scotland. Beautiful views of the bluffs and river. The course with it's elevation changes and scenery was it marvelous shape. We'll be back.

Shoots in the 90s

Played 36 this past weekend with a bogey golfer, like myself, and 2 low handicappers. We played the Highlands first since the course said it was the easier of the 2 courses. This course was so gimmicky and unforgiving! If you miss the fairway by one foot, it might spit your ball right into the dense forest. (I lost 7 balls and found 20 on the edge of the woods looking for my ball). Also, poor quality sand with ping-pong ball sized rocks in greenside bunkers.

We played the lowlands next which was a very nice course and a welcomed change from the Highlands (lost one ball)

Play the Lowlands first, then the highlands...with a range ball.

Shoots in the 70s

Mississippi National consists of two 18-hole layouts that offer the golfer very different styles of golf. The Lowlands are considered the championship course and offer the player a greater challenge. When the greens get rolling fast this course can play very difficult. The Highlands are very scenic and somewhat gimmicky. Several tee shots offer over 100-foot elevation changes. Both course are worth the money. However, if I could only play one, I would choose the Lowlands.

Customer Service

Great customer service. Plantation-style clubhouse with good food and nice pro shop.

Shoots in the 70s

This is a great track for the money. National has two 18 hole courses. The Lowlands is a traditional track that winds through the mississippi river valley. It is the more challeging of the two. The highlands may be one of the most scenic layouts in Minnesota including the par 3 17th signature hole. This par 3 plays about 170 yds and has an elevation change of 200 feet tee to green...I hit gap wedge! Both 18's are worth the very reasonable greens fees. If you play the "highs", bring your camera!!
