Golf Course: 9-hole, par 36 municipal course. Bermuda fairways, fescue rough, and bent grass greens. Ballwin Golf Club has a nice sized clubhouse with a restaurant facility and deli. The pro shop is limited to a few golf balls. Ballwin takes tee times for groups, but single walk-ons are usually fitted in. Layout: This municipal style course has scattered trees throughout, with a smallish creek that comes into play on several holes. There is one pond to carry that comes into play on the ninth hole. The wood line only comes into play on three fairways, but driving accuracy is not terribly important due to parallel fairways. Houses are built along parts of this course, and a main roadway encloses parts its boundaries. For a muny, the golf course has decent length, and a reasonably challenging layout. Tees: There are three sets of tees (the men’s alternate on the position of the tee box from front to back on every other hole, yellow for seniors/juniors, and reds for ladies). Ten to fifteen yards or so yards separate the alternating men’s tees on all holes. The red tees give a reasonable distance break to the women. Condition: Fair to good—The golf course receives a lot of damage from beginners. The Bermuda fairways are generally pretty good. The greens are usually slow, and have a tremendous amount of ball marks that have gone unfixed. Some tee boxes are in poor condition, and bunkers sometimes go un-raked. Pace of play: SLOW—Being a muny that offers cheap rates to the residents of Ballwin, this is a course that attracts beginners, and seniors. The three-plus hour round for nine holes is the norm. Walking is allowed (very few people ride in carts…golf seems to be exercise for most players). Quirks: The biggest quirk at Ballwin Golf Club is the LOUSY attitude of the staff. In over twenty years of playing golf, I have never encountered a golf course staff with a poorer attitude or unfriendlier demeanor than Ballwin. Customer relations seem to be designed to keep people from coming back. The only course layout quirk is the out of bounds stakes that run through the middle of the course between fairways two and eight. Since there are really no corners to cut, it seems an odd decision to put out of bounds stakes on the interior of a golf course. Practice facility: There is no driving range, but a couple of warm up cages in rather poor condition sit next to the first tee. The putting green is nice, but does not represents the speed of the golf course greens, or the multiple ball marks to negotiate. Chipping is not allowed. There is no practice bunker.

Customer Service

The absolute worst I have every encountered.

The course is above average with respect to the grounds. It is a little rough on a couple of the greens, but this seems to be out of the ordinary (from the times I have played it in the past).

Customer Service

Unfortunately, it is ran by a bunch of old men, that think they are in charge of of a championship course.

Mediocre layout in fair condition. The staff definitely feels they are doing you a favor by letting you pay to play "their" course.

Customer Service

rude and obnoxious

My favorite course! I'm a resident so it's very cheap. Not as challenging as people make it out to be.

Customer Service

Excellent. Eveyone at the course is very nice.
