Shoots in the 80s

At one time probably a nice course. Needs a facelift. Interesting and challenging, but not worth the $50 greens fee. Made good use of the land. Not very picturesque, but a good challenge nonetheless.

Customer Service

Good service. Terrible food in the restaurant.

Shoots in the 80s

This course is 5 miles from my house and I usually play it about once each year. When I play it, I remember why I don't play it. It is tight and unforgiving, the rough is set up for the U.S. Open and not for public play and the greens tend to be hard and spikey. By trying to fit this course on the track of land, they ended up with some blind shots and odd doglegs.

Customer Service

No complaints.

Hard to gauge much on their range. Multi-tier teeing area and not level.

Shoot in the 70s

I have played this course many times and it always seems to kick my butt. I'm not even playing the back tees.

- Fariways generally very good, mostly zoysia.
- The rough is sometimes let grow to a ridiculous 4 to 6 inches. Forget about hitting your ball, try finding it!
- The greens must take abeating or they try to cut them too short, because in 5 years, they always are rough and spiked up. Very difficult to make anything but short putts because of the condition.
- The tee boxes are pretty good and there are several. The back tees are very tough.
- The design/layout of this course is it's best feature. Hil Irwin or whoever actually designed this did afabulous job. You won't get bored playing this week after week.

This course would be great if they had better greens.

Customer Service

The restuarant service has varied from good and good looking to rude.

Shoot in the 80s

One of my favorite public courses in the St. Louis area. Challenging course that has it all. Premium placed on control, but there are plenty of holes where you can grip it & rip it too. #15 is their signature hole, one of the best holes I've played- a tight little par 4 that bends to the left. Your second shot is over a creek to a well guarded green. Greens generally aren't very severe in slope or speed. Course gets alot of play, so it can be a little slow sometimes and they have a tough time keeping it up as nice as they'd like, I'm sure, but it's still very well maintained for the number of rounds they turn out.
