This course is by far the best course in the midwest and rivals the greats such as Pebble Beach and Bethpage Black in terms of scenery and difficulty. The greens are immaculate and the fairways are long and wide. The course is actually relatively easy with certain pin placements and with no wind. However, with the usual wind out there (15-20 mph) and normal pin placements, it is impossible to get the ball on the green and even if you do get it there, to keep it there. I had a putt that turned into a 25 yard chip back to the putting surface due do lightning fast greens and a strong wind. Fantastic course but they know their golf out there and it is recommended that you are a near scratch golfer to play there.

Customer Service

The best I have ever had in the sense that it is all sincere. The people who work at Sand Hills live in the area and all are the no nonsense type of people but they are the nicest and best staff of any course I have played.

Had the honor of being invited to play Sand Hills, Ben Crenshaw's masterpiece in Mullen, Nebraska. There is definitely a reason this course has been rated as one of the top 10 in the world. Absolutely fantastic.
A total links experience that rivals anything in Scotland or Ireland. Built on the sand dunes over acquafers, Crenshaw drew out 132 different holes before settling on the 18 that would become the course. Where most courses measure approx 5 miles tee to green, Sand Hills is between 7 and 7 1/2 miles. You can play the course 10 times in 10 days and because of the weather and wind it will be a completely different experience each time. If you would like to see really incredible vistas, google Sands Hills Golf Course and check out some of the reviews and photos. In fact, Golf Digest was there during our stay to do a pictorial for one of their specialty books.
