Shoots in the 70s

Roy below describes the course pretty well, but some things have changed since 2001. The front and back 9's have been switched, so you start off playing some very challenging holes both uphill and downhill that require you to club up or down because of the elevation change ... tricky but fun unless you hit a bad shot. Some bunkers, and medium rough that you want to stay out of. Lots of desert sage surrounding this links style course, carry a club "just in case" if you go looking for your ball in it ... front 9 the better half that roams up and down the low foothills with great views over Carson Valley ... the back 9 is flatter, better for big drives and also winds in among a housing development. They now have a nice clubhouse. $25 afternoon with a cart is a great deal if the heat isn't too bad and you can handle the breeze--cooling, but if it kicks up you have to hit shots under the wind or pay the price ... I was able to play a relaxed round by myself on a Tuesday afternoon. Similar to Eagle Valley West course in Carson City in style, with more elevation changes on the front 9. About the same twilight price, too, and both a good value with challenges that are fair. Play both sides of the valley and have a ball for $50 total!

Shoot in the 80s

The first 9 holes start fairly open and flat. The back 9 go up into hills and desert and get very interesting and quite beautiful. The greens are in excellent condition and very tricky to figure out. In fact the greens and uphill fairways are what make this course fun to play.
