Shoots in the 80s

The course plays fine for a about half the holes. Other holes are mickey mouse and unless you are used to it, good play will not necessarily be enough. Once you get the course and all of it's silly greens and elevation changes firgured out would not really very hard. The course is in horrible shape. Swampy and dead. The eighteenth hole was closed because there was only about fifty square feet of fairway. The rest, dirt and mud. The greens are in OK shape.

If you can get a really good deal, go ahead and play. Otherwise hit up Carson Valley Golf course.

I and the others in my group really liked this course. Yes there is some vertical terrain, and a lot of water. Its challenging, but not ridiculous as the previous review has said. Some of the fairways are quite narrow and there is lots of water. Bring lots of balls.

Shoot in the 80s

I have played every course in the carson valley, this rates the worst. It's not bad to look at and the holes out on the valley floor are very playable. But up on the hills with gigantic elevation drops, this course becomes Disneyland and a bit of a joke. Carson Eagle Valley West and Empire Ranch are much better courses for the money. Again the Valley holes are usually in good shape but as soon as you get up high, the greens get a little spotty and the fairways thin. These holes you can see from the road. If you have a choice between Genoa, Sierra Nevada Golf Ranch, do not even consider this course. I would rather play Carson Valley over this course.
