Shoots in the 100s

they don't call #13 "tombstone" for nothing. a wide downhill slope long par 5. Take out the driver and rip it you say? BAM! About 4 nasty hidden fairway traps will eat your ball for lunch! They were so sloped that I had to pitch backwards out of it and then play my 3rd shot. I great course overall! I was on Vac. and I'll play this one next time in Tahoe.

Shoots in the 80s

One of the nicest public courses in the Reno/Carson area. This course offers a great deal of diversity. Lots of elevation changes. Some spectacular views. Really a great deal of fun. The course is on the difficult side so beginners should avoid this course. But for those in the 90''''''''s and better you''''''''ll really enjoy it. The greens are the best thing about the course. A little hard, a little fast, but very true. The course is a great deal of fun. We got a special radio deal $40, included a cart and a bucket of balls. But this is worth playing at any price.

Shoot in the 70s

Great layout. Challenging and fun to play. Large greens and difficult to putt. Very slow play- 6 hr. round.

Shoot in the 80s

One of the top two courses in the Carson Valley, the other being Genoa Lakes. Both are must plays if you are vacationing. Don't expect trees on this course even though it's called Sierra Nevada Golf Ranch. It's a typical Johnny Miller type links course which is built on a hillside and offers some great views, but much better golf. You have to play it a couple of times to figure out the greens which generally are very smooth and fast. I've played it several times and it's always been in excellent condition. This is definately a summer morning course, play it before the daily valley winds pick up, or it can get really nasty. Very challenging course. People talk about the altitude? I would say it's not much above 5% less on your iron play.

Shoot in the 80s

a nice course also with some really fun holes or can be
really disasterous holes... depending on your level and
how well you play... all putts and shots run away from the
mountains... a nice place to play which is down the street
from genoa lakes... fees are moderate for the area.. a bit
cheaper than genoa, but not as nice... ($85)??

staff is nice but if you play there for the first time I
would think that you would have a better time if you played
with someone with some course knowledge.. greens and fairways are good to very good... rough is more like weeds..
ie... the ranch..
