Shoots in the 80s

This is one of my favorite courses in the Reno area. I've played it a couple of times and just recently in July 2011 . Tee boxes, fairways and greens were all in great shape. I love the layout. Some elevation changes nothing drastic. Fun and challenging holes. A few tee shots require some strategy...layup or try to drive over a creek.

Customer Service

customer service in clubhouse was fine. not great, not bad. They are missing an opportunity to be friendly and put a personal touch on the experience, but again they weren't rude or anything negative. The course marshall was actually very friendly. Pointed out some of the scenery. Very cool.

Fun layout, lots of interesting trouble. Stay clean off the tee and you will have a short approach to some protected greens.

Shoots in the 80s

Excellent course for the money. Rolling fairways with a lot of doglegs. Rough is moderate...sometimes difficult, sometimes ok. Greens are very puttable and read true. Very sporty and enjoyable. Being from Hawaii we are not used to seeing this type of course. Even seeing a creek meandering through the course was new to us. All & all a wonderful experience.

Customer Service

We were unimpressed by the people in the pro shop. Not very helpful. It was obvious we were new to the course but they didn't volunteer much information. The twosome we were paired with were fantastic. They played the course before and gave us excellent tips on each hole. Wolf run should hire people like those guys.

Shoots in the 80s

I was impressed by this course. Being from Hawaii, I really enjoyed the different environment of Wolf Run. Sort of like a links course with open fairways but penalizes you if you hit in the rough. The fairways were nice and the greens were very puttable with clean reads and not too many undulations. All & all worth the price and I would play there again.

Customer Service

Wasn't too impressed by the customer service. They assumed too much and instructions were vague. The people in the pro shop acted like we were supposed to know procedures. They surely knew that we were new to the course but did not volunteer enough information.

Shoots in the 80s

I agree with Roy's description and review but would like to add that this course can get very windy in the afternoons- to the point that it is unplayable. Nice fairways and greens and beautiful scenery and creeks. Houses along the fairways but they are set back enough so that they do not disrupt the golfing experience. I reserve 5 stars for only the most spectacular of course so giving 4 is good I feel though it reduces the average rating apparently.

Customer Service

Very good.

Shoot in the 80s

This is one of the better courses in Reno. There are a number of elevation changes, and a number of natural creeks that run through the fairways. It is a thinking persons course. Many of the tees feature backdrops of the city of Reno in the distance or the snow capped Sierra Mountains. There are a number of one shot par 3's, some wide open and tight fairways. It truly is a great course. Winter conditions exist from November to early April. On warm sunny winter days it is still a lot of fun to play in the afternoon. Ski in the morning and golf in the afternoon. The course is always in excellent condition. They are about to invest 3 million dollars in course maintenance. It is the University of Nevada's home course. The teaching professionals are very good with connections to the PGA. There is a Ping and Mizuno fitting clinic twice a week in the summer.
