Shoots in the 70s

Let me first say that this is not a bad golf course. Now with that being said... let the complaining begin..There are a few nice holes on the course and the rest all look the same. There are a ton of bunkers on this course which is fine but they don't use sand. I think its more like dirt. The greens are very frustrating to putt because they are all flat. No matter what you read take my advice and ram it straight at the hole. Now the course is always clean and in good shape. So thats what confuses me on why I don't like it but I just think it is boring. So if you like a nice flat tree lined boring golf course...Souhegan Woods is the place for you.

Customer Service

ok for the most part.. but a lot of retired people who work part time there think they are the head pro or own the place..They always have a comment about everything and anything!!Could definetly do without them!!

Shoots in the 90s

Course is always in great shape and has great rates after 3 pm ($20-25). Great driving range and putting green. On the negative side: hard to find, many sand traps, very flat course and greens tend to be extra large at least for me which leads to many 3 puts. Overall a nice place to play with no stuffy golf atmosphere that you might find at some courses.

Customer Service

good

Shoot in the 80s

I really like this course. For one thing, when you call for a tee time, a live person answers the phone, and they are always friendly, which puts you into a good mood. For another, the course is well-maintained and puts an emphasis on shot-making. There are 72 bunkers on this course; that's 4 per HOLE for those of you doing the math. You don't have to be long off the tee (it's a rather short course at 6500 yards from the back tees), but if you miss the fairways, you will NOT score. Period.

The course is also quite scenic, with the tall pine trees and marshy areas. It's a real mellow place to play golf.

The tee boxes are a little chewed up, but generally even. The greens are quite slow, as a rule, so you can be a lousy putter and still get a good score (you will not get hurt too badly). Pace of play generally moves along, though Marshalls are a rarity, and would be a plus.

They have twilight rates for the thrifty ($20), as well as discounted rates for weekends after 3 or 4PM.

All in all, a nice course. Worth up to a 40 minute drive.

Customer Service

Better bring a sand wedge--- or two. This is "Sandhegan Woods" or "The Desert of New Hampshire". There are four or five BIG (but shallow) bunkers on every hole. My father hates this course. He often goes from bunker to bunker without touching a fairway for several holes. I, however, am a better player than he is and I can generally get a round in without playing from the sand more than eighteen or twenty times.

The course requires careful iron play and excellent bunker skills.

Very reasonably priced pro shop. Large grass range.
