This course is a blast! Why? Because you have to think! If you want to know what it's like being in a PGA tourney, play here! You can't go thinking your going to score as well as you do on the wimpy courses! My buddy and I played from the double black diamonds for fun..wow....I was happy I broke 100. It also cured my dream of being a pro...Ha! You really do have to think through the course. You might use the driver twice if your smart! If your not, I'll find your ball later!! DO NOT play here if you can't get the ball into the air, and have some idea how far you hit your clubs! I've warned you!! :)

Customer Service

Customer service is great! Giving it a 4 because the driving range is uphill! No I mean really uphill !!!! Makes it kind of hard to estimate the distances of your clubs that day! The putting green is nowhere near the clubhouse! Ask where it is. if you need to practice.

Well the horor stories may very well be true, what a tough course. The greens were horrible, dry and way to fast. Couldnt judge a put well. If you dont know the course, you may take a blind shot, hit a good one and think your in good shape, till you see what was there! Had a horrible day, so I guess that leads to the bad review possibly. either way, the course wasnt in good shape and it is very challenging. If your a low handicap you will probably enjoy it. If you are a high handicap dont waste your money. Get better and then play Ragged! The staff was very friendly thou, if your up for a challenge, give it a whirl. My suggestion, swallow your pride and play the forward (green circle) tees haha

Heard lots of horror stories about the course from friends. Had to try it. Shot the lowest score I had all year. Granted, there are holes that make you want to throw your clubs and spend hours searching for balls that have been sucked up by the rough gods, but overall, I had a great time here. Know your length, know what clubs you're good with, and use them. Don't try a new club for the first time thinking it'll work. Use what you know. It's fun. Snowboarding in the winter time is great here too.

Customer Service

Yeah...it's good...

I had heard so many horror stories about Ragged that I had to find out for myself. A word of warning. If you are a golfer who wants to pull out driver on every hole this might not be the course for you. Rather every hole requires you to review the card, tee placement, and figure out what club to hit.

Customer Service

Friendly, and helpful..

Outstanding! This is a beautiful mountain course, with spectacular scenery. I just returned from a mini-vacation there and enjoyed everything about the course. Very friendly staff, outstanding greens, and very challenging layout. Leave the driver at home and practice those long irons! The middle tees do not require that you are long of the tee, you just need to know your yardages. Despite its insane slope rating I was able shoot 90 or better twice in four rounds. The first 6 holes are very difficult but then it eases up a bit, and the back nine was consistantly 4-5 shots easier. I am already planning my next trip!

Customer Service

Tee times were very easy to make, and club pro was very friendly.

Insanely difficult mountain course at the Ragged Mt Ski area. Many holes are difficult to the point of unplayability.

How hard can it be, you ask? How about a 440 yrd par 4, playing uphill, with a fairway that slopes right to left. Now add three streams crossing the fairway at regular intervals, say 100 yrds apart. On top of that the green is elevated, protected by a wooded hillside on the left (lost ball), a swamp on the right (lost ball), bunkers in front and high grass all around. If you eventually reach the green, after six or seven well struck shots, you'll find that it's a well sloped, two tier green. Add on three putts and you walk away with a nine. Congratulations. Of course, Tiger Woods would have carded a mere six. But you can't expect to play that well. Just take your nine and be happy you only lost two balls.
