hardto get on even for a county resident unless you are politcally connected or a county mechanic playing every other day when they should be working. it is a great course but i'll stay off it until they rid themselves of the cronism for tee times and get everyone to pay the same price and not let county employees or cronies play for free.

Shoots in the 80s

Great county course. No where near resort quality, but much better than average public NJ courses. Good overall conditioning, well managed tee times, usually good pace. Only complaint is the lack of maintenance for bunkers.

Shoots in the 80s

$55 for a great round of golf! Great Great public course, right up there with Richter Park in Connecticut and Bethpage Black on Long Island. Hominy feels like a horse farm with white shingle buildings with green roofs. It's a lovely day of golf on a challenging course. It is extremely difficult to get out if you're not a resident of Monmouth county, so I'd try going out as a single-- I've had pretty good luck, but you must call ahead to see how long the waiting list is. The tees aren't so well planned out. You have to choose between about 6400 yards from the whites or 7050 from the tips, which is the difference between blowing over all the bunkers and having to play a demanding parkland course with your driver working. From the tips, you will definitely have more 175 yard approach shots than you are accustomed to. Course gets a lot of play but is usually in pretty good shape. All in all, the only drawback is the difficulty in getting on the course. That aside, I could play Hominy Hill as my only course and be pretty happy about it. Highly recommended.

Customer Service

Can be brusque, but I like those folks. Don't get put off-- they have a lot of golfers to deal with.

Shoot in the 90s

Considered best in the Monmouth County system. Fairly wide well kept fairways. Former private club course taken over by County (Robert Trent Jones design). Challenging greens and lots of different kinds of holes; no houses crowding edge of course. Very heavily played, plan a week ahead for a foursome. Pace of play is good. Golfers tend to be much better players than you normally encounter (I once got matched with former captain Stanford golf team).

Customer Service

Tee times difficult.
