Shoots in the 80s

Ditto Ken's review below. My review can be summed up in one word - "Overrated". Somewhat boring layout. Range is a joke. Rangering is overbearing. Goofy pin placements. On back nine had rangers hassling from 10 thru 17. The group two ahead of us was moved from the 10th tee to 11th as they had the 11th tee open when they arrived at 10. Therefore all the other groups behind them were pushed the entire back nine to make up for the gap. All this and I had to drive 2 hours to get there and spend $125 to play it. This is a theme course, they do well on the theme but forgot about the course.

Shoots in the 80s

This course was in great shape for the middle of the summer. the greens were very good, and tees were perfect. We had no problem w/ the rangers as others did. The course played easy that day with almost no wind, and the layout seemed a lttle dull on some holes. If you keep it out of the waist high rough as i was lucky enough to do on all but one hole, the course plays quite easy.

Customer Service

Great starter, service. (didn''t get a caddie)

the driving range gives you no bearing on how long or accurately you are hitting because it is off a "cliff".

very well maintained

play 36 here at least twice a month

challenging layout yet if you stay out of the fescue and this course is not that difficult. however fescue, winds will come in play so easier said than done

Customer Service

rangers are very knowledgeable and very friendly so use them

Shoot in the 90s

Just played in a golf outing and was blown away by the layout. Only 3 years old and was named the top public course in NJ, now I know why. Bring plenty of sunscreen and balls as there is not but 5 trees on the course and no shade. Cannot wait to play it again. If you are looking for a course comparable to the Legends in Myrtle Beach, then you don't have to travel as far. Top notch all the way, with bagpipes at the end of the day brings a tear to eyes. Greens were spectacular, no carts on fairways, so keep it in play.

Weekend rate $125 includes Cart, twilight rate is around $90, but worth every dollar.

Customer Service

The staff was there to make sure you were enjoying your round and when you were hitting blind greens.

This is a highly overated facility in my opinion. For the price, $125, I expect a lot more. That you get only $5 off the price if you take a caddy (independent contractors and not part of the course finances) I found to be foolish and indicative of the principal objective, which is to make money, leaving player enjoyment for another positioin. As for the course itself, nothing special. It is an OK layout, not very hard or interesting. The greens are huge, but not very interesting. They had spiked the fairways the day I played so it was hard to play the ball down, and hard to rate the condition of the fairways. The course does seem well maintained. The range is poor, as you are hitting off a precipice and have little idea how far or accurate your shots are.
But these are not the biggest problems. If you like playing in jail, this place is for you. There are rangers everywhere and others with walkie talkies stationed around the place. We had one ranger dog us from the 11th green to the 16th hole, and for no reason as we were a hole ahead of the people behind us. Nevertheless, he kept telling us to catch up to the group ahead of us, despite the fact it was a threesome (we were a foursome) and they were playing a scramble amongst themselves. He clearly did not know the game and the pace of different formats. I finally had a few words with him and he disappeared for the day. That made the condition of play oppressive and unenjoyable to eveyone in our group. The reason, they push through alot of golfers and can only do it by pushing the players. They told us they had 220 players that day. You do the math.
I have comopared my experience with that of other knowledgeable golfers, and they agreed with my assessment.

Customer Service

We did register our feelings about the rangering and one offensive ranger, and were told he would be spoken with.

Shoot in the 90s

One of the best golf courses in the tri-state. Well maintained everywhere including the club house. It sort reminds me courses you could see in the southern CA. If you think you are a golf junky looking for challenges, you ought to be there.

Early twilight starts at 2:30 pm is a great deal ($90 weekend, $70 weekdays)
