I cannot believe these reviews of High Bridge. this is a beutifully maintained course. My foursome has played all over New Jersey, and High Bridge is a favorite. The greens are always perfect. the fairways are great. The layout has a little of everything....an elevated scenic par 3, a par 5 you can reach in 2, difficult drives over ravines, and also easy scorable par 4 to go along woith the difficult holes. the rough and vescue are VERY difficult to get out of. In the 20-30 times I have played it, I was satisfied EVERY time, not with my scores, but with the condition. And who cares about a golf courses pro shop.

Good track: nice layout, solid par 3's,
staff is friendly and accomadating - although
I could do without a lesson from the starter on the
first tee.
They DO have to cut the rough - it's a little ridiculous
and really takes you out of your rhythmn.
Price is a bargain.
Pro shop is lame.
The only thing keeping me from giving this a strong 4-5 rating is the rough.

I played this course for a tournament not knowing what to expect. Was thouroughly impressed by whta it had to offer. The fescue grass was a good feature, it is definaeltly not something to complain about if u are a fan of golf. Could be a really tough course from the tips.

This is a Township owned course that is slowly maturing into a great example of USA based links style golf. The fescue grass (high rough) is a big part of the character of the course. It's no problem as long as you don't spend 15 min. looking for your ball. Drop and hit. The fairways are getting better while the greens are coming along a little slower. The pace of play can be VERY slow. Five hours + is not unusual. Greens fees are reasonable (for this part of NJ) and top out at $65 including cart, which you pay for whether you walk of not. The course has some memorable holes and is well worth playing once.
