First, and foremost I want to state this review is a direct result of the one and only employee that was working the afternoon of April 25, 2011, Charlie Shannon.
My cousin, my brother and I teed off at 5:15PM. We were immediately waved through on the first hole by a twosome of female beginner golfers. Upon getting to the second tee box, Charlie Shannon was racing out from the clubhouse on his gold cart. The exact change, "Why are you guys starting on the 2nd hole"(Charlie). "The two ladies wanted us to play though because they were just learning the game" (Us). "You better not make them wait" (Charlie).

Having the employee treat you with arrogance and attitude from the get go had us almost wanting to head back and get a refund and leave. With 20 golf courses in the area, why go to a place where the worker is going to treat you with outright disrespect? We decided we'd stay and the experience only got worse.

Upon teeing off on our second to last hole, Charlie was back on his golf cart charging out at us once again. What was the problem now? Charlie told us that the golf course closes at 7PM and it's 6:55 PM so this would be our last hole.

Fair enough, until my cousin asked Charlie if we'd be able to finish our round which was one additional hole. Rather than just telling us no it's too late, which is totally understandable, Charlie instead decided to ask my cousin if he'd pay him to sit and wait for us to finish the round. Confused by the question my cousin responded "I thought we already paid." Charlie then responded, "you know what guys your rate of play is pathetic even those two girls passed you so you're finished."

To clear up the story the ladie who were a full hole behind us decided to call it quits and graciously told us they had had enough for the day as they headed back to the clubhouse. When I told Charlie the ladies didn't pass us, but rather ended their night after the 6th hole, he once again told us, "your rate of play is pathetic and your done after this hole".

I've golfed at may golf courses before, and to be scalded and talked to with such disrespect by an employee wasn't only surprising it was really frustrating.

I told Charlie we'd just pick up then and there, as we'd had enough of his degrading for the day. I'd like to add we were 1 hour and 55 minutes into our round with one and a half holes left when we were told our rate of play was a joke. On their website it approximates that 9 holes takes 2 and a half hours to play (says so right here http://www.hamiltontrails.com/about-atlantic-city-golf-course.html). Where Charlie gets off telling us that our rate of play is a joke when it states right on the website that it takes 2 and a half hours, really irritated me.

To top off the night, I politely asked Charlie where it stated the course closed promptly at 7PM. He pointed to a sign behind me that stated the course closed at 7:15PM. Now I wasn't about to fuss over the discrepancy, but the point is we still had 20 minutes left when Charlie charged us in his golf cart to let us know our rate of play was "pathetic".

He stated that the 7:15PM was the time he should actually be in his car ready to leave, and that you actually had to be off the course at 7PM. Why does it say the course is closed at 7:15PM then Charlie? I would've loved to see him pull that excuse if the owner was there.

I'll be contacting the owner of the course within the next few days just so he knows the way 3 of his customers were treated that day. As a business owner myself, I know not every employee is perfect. But the way Charlie treated us was one of the most disrespectful experiences I've ever had at any business, let alone a golf course.

Charlie, I want to personally thank you for ruining my brothers first round of golf with your blatant arrogance and disrespect. It wasn't the rate of play that was "pathetic" as you so eloquently put it, it was your arrogance and miserable attitude.

Customer Service

Charlie Shannon the only employee on hand was disrespectful, arrogant, and miserable. For detailes read the story above.

Nice nine hole course. Well maintained. Greens were average. Water or dry ditches come into play on every hole. Busy course also, but played the nine in just under two hours.

Customer Service

Not much to speak of and they have a health rule that does not allow them to keep water coolers on the course. Rangers and maintainance crew were busy. Club house was simple. They do have a club pro, though who was out giving a lesson.

The staff was the best, the clubhouse was great. BIG screen TV with the golf channel on and ice cold drinks at the ready. The course was one of the best ones I have ever been on and was not to difficult. The 18th hole was hard and alot of fun. Great time will go back time and time again.

Customer Service

They always nice and help you when ever you need them.

Hamilton Trails is becoming a great place to play golf. Over the years the grounds had deteriorated, but after only one year the new owners have made an appreciable difference. As a result of the many changes from last year you can really see the difference. My hat goes off to them...they are committed to making Hamilton Trails a great place to play golf.

Customer Service

Excellent!
