This course is in the best shape since the county took ownership some nine or ten years ago. Wonderful conditions and a hardworking greenscrew. Their pro and his staff are excellent.

Customer Service

The best in the business.

Unlike others I would not call this a "hidden gem". It is OK. Some up nad down hill, but not excessive. Fairways were moderatley wide and in need of a mowing. Greens were slightly fast and in need of repair in some cases. Tee boxes were a mess at many places and, although we teed off at 3:45, the water coolers were not maintained. Had to leave 3 holes sort because of darkness despite this being late early June and the sun setting around 8:30 so do the math and you see it was slow and crowded. Nice layout and challenging.

Customer Service

No cart girl and the ranger never graced us with his presence and we could have used some help pushing the crowd along. Clubhouse was nice and the proshop people amiable.

It's a enjoyable course to play that doesn't beat you up. That's the good side. If you're not a county resident it's a little pricy for what you get. The play is frequently slooooow. Like most short courses, it draws a lot of hackers and an older crowd. But, all in all, I enjoy playing the course.

Customer Service

OK.

Excellent value and a very nice course for beginners and still challenging enough for experienced golfers. A real hidden treasure.

The Pitman Golf course is a hidden gem. A public course, with very good conditions, where you can walk ANYTIME, at a great price.

Customer Service

Staff is excellent. The staff is friendly and accomodating, especially for walk-ons. The pro sends weekly email course updates.

For a public course county owned and operated, this is a little jewel. It's forgiving enough for beginners, yet can still pose challeges for good linksters.

Customer Service

Nice folks. The pro, Orist wells, is top notch. I recommend a lesson from him. Very nice temperment (not to mention he hits the ball a mile!)

Shoot in the 100s

This course is short, and relatively wide open. If you can't score here, it is because you are in the deep rough. The greens are not too fast nor are they too slow. They putt very true. The fairways are in well cared for and you almost get a good lie. The roughs can get very thick, but you almost never loose a ball. Little in the way of elevation changes. Both finishing holes (9 and 18) are tough uphill par fours. There are four very interesting par 3 holes, but only two easy par 5 holes.
The back nine has quite a bit of back and forth hole layout.
Playing from the blue tees it recommended to make the course challenging. Great bargin for in-county residents

Customer Service

Club pro is highly regarded.

Shoot in the 70s

The course is very open to wild drives but can cost you with the high rough, but the greens are small, many short par 4s and all par 5s are reachable in 2. Hole number 11 is a peace of crap, its just a difficult, trashy hole that had no lies because of no grass.
