Course is in terrible condition. Sparse, un-rake sand traps with grass growing in them. Crab grass growing on greens and fringes. Burnt tee boxes with a lot of dirt areas.
This used to be a premiere place. Now I would not go back. Sad how far this place has fallen. A waste of money.

Customer Service

Not much customer service because there was not much staff. Starter didn't talk, clubhouse didn't greet us. Started us on the back nine with the front nine wide open and no outings planned. Not what you expect from a course that thinks it is a good facility.

Excellently maintained and layed out course. Some of the best fairways I've ever hit a ball onto. Greens are challenging and upper stimp fast. Rough will penalize bad shots, but there is a true first cut that is fair and trimmed. Each hole is a gem with different challenges. BUT, quite pricey

Customer Service

Proshop kid was a bit highhanded. Starter was very friendly. Cart girl very nice, but not White Oaks nice.:) Groundskeepers were busy and polite. The biggest letdown was the clubhouse which is far insufficient for this style of golf club.

Great course that is well maintained. low cut fairways, greens at about a 10 stimp and weedless. Rough is challenging but not ridiculous (i.e. River Winds). The old relics strewn throughout the course are a bit over the top. They were trying to add character, just give me a classic looking golf course. Challenging yardage and greens. One of the top public courses that I have played on.

Customer Service

Golf shop boy looked at me like I was from Mars until I purchased a shirt. Clubhouse is below par in comparison to the class of the course. Polite and active groundskeepers and cartgirl.

More rustic but close to Deerwood in the quality of golf. Below Pine Hills, but I have yet to find a public (last I knew it was still public) course as good as Pine Hills in Jersey. Pricey, but to be expected for the round of golf played here.

Great layout with well trimmed fairways and first cut rough. Tough sand hazards including a pot bunker that is downright nasty. Greens have a high stimp but not ridiculous. Parachuters are a distraction. Water comes into play more on the back nine.18 is a tough finishing hole. Good challange. Course was in overall good condition.

Customer Service

Clubhouse was not overly impressive especially for a course being played up as a private style club. Good staff all around especially the grounds crew who were constantly improving the course as I played the round, yet w/o being rude or intrusive. Good cart service. Pricey for my taste, which is the one reason I would be reluctant to return.

Class A facility, especially for a public course. Very nice layout. Generous fairways which are in excellent shape. Greens are hard and fast with subtle reading challenges. There is one hole with a highlands style pot bunker which everyone should avoid. Rough is not ridiculous, like on some course. Well drained and no geese. I could do without the gimicks (steamshovels and airplanes on the course). Skydivers and planes coming in low were a distraction. Overall one of the better puvlic courses in Jersey, although steeply priced. Pace was good for a weekday morning.

Customer Service

Proshop attendant was a bit haughty with me, for some reason. Starter was a nice fellow. Cart girl made the rounds and was fine (not White Oaks fine, but OK). Grounds crew was busy all day picking up sticks and fine tuning the course. 19th hole is nothing to get excited about.

Pine Hill is similar, but better for the similar price, especially the clubhouse which Scotland is miles behind.

Great lay-out with average conditioning. Given the price I expected better conditioning.

Customer Service

Average for the price but nothing special.

I've played this course a few times. Always in good condition. The skydivers/planes can be a bit of a distraction. Definitely overpriced. Can play nearby Pine Hill for same twilight price. Scotland Run is not even in the same category as Pine Hill. Practice facility is subpar, has been under construction every time I've been there.

I agree with the above reviews wholeheartedly. A whale of a course -- excellent staff, facilities, conditions, scenery, design and execution. Easily one of the best in all of Jersey. Bring your A game, though, because the course is penal -- including the overhead distractions from the constant plunging of skydivers.

One of the top five best courses I have ever played. The best of my trip to Jersey in six rounds. Very friendly off the tee. Can see every green except the seventh I believe. Exceptional green complexes. In great shape considering the drought. They had better have it in great shape thought considering the $105 weekend price. Back nine is visually stunning, even including the asphalt plant. I enjoyed the forced carries over the old sand pits. I will play every chance I get back there. Very enjoyable in every aspect.

Okay, how about a real honest review for this course. The course is always in great shape, they do an excellent job as far as conditioning goes. It is an excellent layout as well. It is without a doubt 1 of the top 5 courses in the area when you consider value and condition as well as pace of play and the total package, even though it is over-priced.
