A mix of pretty good and mediocure. The two nines have a different charactor with the front having a more links feel, the back winds into the woods a bit. The holes themselves are attractive enough, but the surounding landscape is strickly So Jersey farm country. The criticism you note in the previous reviews have to due with several holes on the back nine. One short dogleg is a change of pace, several in a row are tedious. Take a cart as the routing leaves very long walks between some holes. But most of the holes are entertaining with good to excellent shot values and challenging greens that are very slooowwwww. Grass maintenence was very good, bunker sand was terrible, wet and hard. The clubhouse is attractive.

Customer Service

Excellent. Everyone was very nice, bagboys right there right now, cart girl appeared regularly, clubhouse staff friendly.

Shoots in the 90s

I played in June 2005 and from what I recall it was a nice course, but slightly overpriced. Pace was slow (4 1/2-5 hours) for a weekday afternoon, although that was due to a league coming in after I arrived which slowed up the back nine. I liked the layout. Rough penalizes bad shots. Greens were in great shape and varied in style and contour. On the back nine they did a good job constructing the island par-3. I almost has a feel of a links course. Groundskeepers and rangers were hiding most of the day, although the course is well maintained. Overall, a good experience.

Customer Service

Club house is good, but access to the course is limited from the parking lot and there was construction in the front which caused rerouting. I don't recall a ramp, or access through the curb to roll push carts through, because I generally walk. Personel were courteous and helpful, which is not always the case at other courses.

I would play again, but off season and not during a league time.

I traveled about 30-40 miles to play the course twice. The first time was because it was new, and the second time was because it was too cheap to pass up. It's an OK course. I would say if you can get a good deal on the fee go for it. There's a little too much crab grass in the fairways for me, but the tee boxs and grens are in good shape. And yes, there are some very short par 4's, but they add a different character to the course. Just don't pay the primetime, in season rate.

Customer Service

OK.

Shoots in the 80s

Given the bad reviews, I was tempted to simply remain silent as I'd much prefer that you didn't show up to play at this course. Frankly, although there's a hint of truth in the two prior reviews, its not much. True, the holes are "crammed in" as the course lacked the necessary acreage to accomplish the designer's goals. What is overlooked is that the course is virtually always kept in very good condition. Some of the holes are a bit mundane, but they started with a cow pasture! Most of the holes provide a reasonable challenge from the back tees, and where they lacked distance, they typically toughened things up with very high rough, bunkers, or trees. The greens are undoubtedly the best part of the course as they all have various slopes and some multiple levels. Well thought out pin positions can increase the difficulty. In short, if you want to "grip it and rip it", you probably want to go somewhere else. If you realize that there's more to golf than simply hitting a driver off of every tee, you may enjoy this course.

Customer Service

Extremely courteous and friendly staff, so much so, that it's one of the best parts of playing there.

Rather ambitious clubhouse planned - groundbreaking due for June, 2003. Temporary facilities are just that.

Bizarre! Nice holes laid out in a crammed in fashion. Definitely needed more acreage. Front nine of the tee is confusing about where you land the ball. Greens are pretty decent as in the sand.

Customer Service

I was from out of town and they made me buy a pair of bermuda shorts.

A peice of junk. The holes are layed out by a five year old. The walk from hole to hole can take 5 minutes. The greens are fast because they havent watered them for the past 3 months. Ticks gallor, a normal links course. Way too much money for a short little course. Some par 4s you can hit 9 irons off the tee and then a SW. Other holes are pretty much a joke will hitting on a tight fairway that slopes into the water. Grass is unplayable when you get too deep.
