Shoots in the 90s

My brother and I took my 11 year old son for his first golf outing. My son had been practicing a lot in the back yard and I had taken him to the driving range several times. He was excited to be going to a real golf course. We picked this course because we had heard that it was a family owned course out in the country and thought it would be a good place for my son. On the second hole while we were helping my son I saw a group come up the fairway and immediately motioned them through. On the fourth hole I was apparently paying more attention to my son than I was the signs. On our way to the fifth tee an crass old man in a red cart came up and began hassling us about driving off the path on the previous hole. Even after I apologized and told him that it was completely unintentional, he continued to belabor the issue. He then made a comment about us going to slow. I told him that we had and would wave through anyone that comes up behind us and he proceeded to tell us that he would rather have us hurry up. An interesting point to mention is that from about the 7th to the 18th holes not one group came up behind us. As Kevin stated so eloquently in his review we also will "NEVER RETURN TO OR RECOMMEND THIS COURSE TO ANYONE DUE TO AN ENCOUNTER WITH THE GUY WHO APPARENTLY MANAGES THE COURSE!"

Shoot in the 70s

Fairly well maintained course, greens were small but smooth, tees were worn with many divot marks. There were a lot of hills on this course, which the holes ran parallel to resulting in a lot of uphill/downhill lies (very few ball above/below feet lies). I would describe it as a nice course, however, I WILL NEVER RETURN TO OR RECOMMEND THIS COURSE TO ANYONE DUE TO AN ENCOUNTER WITH THE GUY WHO APPARENTLY MANAGES THE COURSE! I apologize for the caps, but this encounter left a really bad taste in my mouth. I have been playing golf for over 10 years, including competitively back in high school, so I know the rules of the game and how a person should conduct themselves while on the course. Anyways, my two playing partners and I had just finished the second hole, with the group behind us right on our tails-we decided to let them play through. After hitting our shots, we courteously pulled our cart to the side of the cart path so that the group behind us would be able to get past our cart on the path. Just then the guy who took our money at the counter came driving by on his cart, and saw that the wheels on the right side of our cart were off the path. He pointed at the cart and screamed at us as if in an alcoholic rage "I TOLD YOU GUYS TO KEEP YOUR CARTS ON THE PATH, WHAT'S YOUR PROBLEM?" We found this to be most ironic since the cart path ended about 6 feet or so in front of our parked cart, at which point you drove out around the fairway on the rough. I looked at the guy and asked him "why are you reacting like this, are you actually mad at us?" His reply was "Yeah I'm mad at you, I told you to keep your carts on the path and you were too stupid to do it." I apologized for not following his rule and told him that we would never return or recommend his course to anyone. We didn't appreciate being treated that way at all, especially for what he was upset about. I would have liked this course otherwise, but he absolutely ruined it in that 20 second encounter forever. There are far nicer courses around that cost less to play anyways, so they will be getting our business in the future.
